If the pattern of the second half is the same, I think we'll lose. We need to settle it down and control the tempo more.

 

Been our best player so far this season, apart from maybe Cooky

 

I'm not sure why Jamie Raynor and Nathan Clarke are making so much of the multi ball system like Cheltenham have invented something new. Every ground has them and has them in the same position as the EFL set the places for them, the only difference is that they are using it like it's Wimbledon and picking up the new ball quickly.

 

He is streets ahead of Wright playing as a LWB in my opinion

 

He wouldn't and that's not what I said. I just think we are weakened in midfield by a player who can rarely get to the ball first in his area of the pitch. If we had 3 very mobile midfielders and he was being relied on more to create fine but that's not the role he's being asked to play. He's a great impact player and possibly our most skilful but there's a reason he's consistently not claimed a starting berth in our side in league 2.

 

I think Kav comes off at HT. Offered absolutely nothing. Time for Sanderson to show that he took GA's words onboard.

 

They are chalk and cheese.

 

Mixed bag, good in fits and starts but looks all over the place at the back. As usual we are frightened to death of pace and direct running.

Going forward, we aren't doing enough to get our strike players in play. Cook not had a sniff, pointon anonymous due to playing wrong side, too deep and too wide.

Jamie Walker doing some decent stuff but final decision is shocking, kavannagh again being kavannagh. I get he runs about a lot, but I could probably do that for about two grand a week less

Kav continues to offer anything beyond a dive when clear of their defender. Get him off and Sanderson on . GA was livid

As a result Cook is isolated

Richards, Shepherd, Smallwood and Walker having decent half , but Walker frustrates by running down rabbit holes.

Still think the ref bottled our pen shout or he went back to the first offence?

Decent game so far. Good start, great header from Byrne and ball from Smallwood but disappointing equaliser for Cheltenham who will feel they deserved it overall for their performance.

Jamie Walker and Richards have been decent. Would like to see Pointon hold on to the ball more, he’s been too quick to play a first time pass rather than put his foot on it and see what else is around him.

Cook and Kavanagh been disappointing. Need to see more, especially from Kavanagh. Maybe Sanderson or Smith can spark a bit more up top.

If we keep letting them play as we did, they can cause us problems. However seen enough from us to indicate we can cause them problem.

 

Why would he go back to the first offence? If he allowed the game to go on, assuming he didn't think there was an offence outside the box, then he should give the second offence. Two different fouls in my opinion.

 

I still think we'll win this. Expect changes at half time or soon after. Sanderson for kav and Evans in for Bobby possibly.

 

You're right tbhf. I'm sure the rule has changed mind. We should've had a pen. Quite clearly in the box. Ref bound to err on the side of caution if he's not certain but we can feel aggrieved.

 

City need to take control of the tempo. That said it was good emd to end stuff. Need to get more balls into box for Cookie. These look a small side.

 

Yeh looked a pen but ive seen them given against Shepherd too. Looked handball to me. Evens itself out.

 

If Evans fit enough to do a full half, then definitely. We need his experience to shore up the midfield and take the heat and sting out of their quick press and breaks
