Could be 20,000 there next Saturday if we can continue our good run of form at Cheltenham today we should have sown the game up second half, their keeper kept them in the game with that save from Cook, once Cookie pulled that ball back onto his left peg I was already up celebrating a goal, really enjoyed today, Kav more like his old self Walker and Odour played some great through balls and defenders chipping in with goals to win the game.

A good response to going 1-0 down. Wright going off made a big difference, we looked far more balanced with Richard's on. First half an even affair, second half we were the better side and deserved the points. Special mention for the goal from Shepherd, best strike I've seen at VP for some time. Donny next, VP gonna be rocking next week.

Disciplined performance but thought the subbing of Walker helped them to control (without really troubling us admittedly) the last 20/25 minutes.
He’s our most experienced player at just putting his foot on the ball or buying a cheap foul.

It’s a very minor criticism after a very enjoyable game where every player can hold their heads up and know that they’ve given their all, both with the ball and without.

I agree their goal was one of the only bits of football they played, just slinging balls into the box, I did post once Bryne scored getting us back into the game we'd go on and win the game but what a winning strike from Shepherd.

I agree with regards Jamie Walker but maybe the stat guys said he'd done enough and wanted him 100% for Cheltenham Tuesday night.

Not really sure what Wright gives us to be honest.
Richards is head and shoulders the better defender and is getting better going forward.
His interception was brilliant as that had goal all over it.
He also always looks to go forward where Wright seems hesitant and is happy to get rid backwards too often.

That's the thing when you replace walker with pointon, you miss the niggle and the hard work.

The replaced players may have been struggling for fitness but I thought the substitutions definitely had a negative effect on the side, and handed them total control.

We looked like we could hit them on the break in the second half but all threat from us just disappeared when walker, cook and kavannagh went off

Now we have to do the business on Tuesday night as @Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart says Valley Parade will be rocking next Saturday, just keep Sharp quiet.

I question wrights mentality unfortunately, always seems to get injured from the slightest thing.

He was getting beat a lot down his side, and then had the set to with their big lad , got booked and next things he is going off.

Not sure he fancied it to be honest

Our happy clappers are so infuriating. Apparently we shouldn’t be mad at Kavanagh for him stopping us scoring because we won… the guy literally, stood in the line offside, cost us a goal…

I get we won. But these fans that cant analyse a game beyond the result are stupid and annoy me

Thought when Pointon came on he took over from Walker and he did end up getting booked. GA also said that Wright had the lurgy too and the decision to take him off was made on that basis.

Was trying to work out how the hell we'd got offside from a corner.

A good battling win, you can see why Gillingham don't concede many but also why they don't score many especially away from home. First real big test at home and we come through it well with a lot of positives, next week's game against Doncaster will probably be another step up. Up to top of the of the home table which is something we've not been able to say for a long time.

Couldn't put it better myself. Feel for Wright in a way, he's just not a wing back despite what Alexander might think. Richards plays like a wing back, some just fit a role better than others.

I think in games where we're clearly the better team, Wright has worked. Against Newport County, Wright had the freedom of West Yorkshire down that left flank. Today we were facing a much better team, and while they had little threat up front, Wright was really struggling with their combo of Clarke/Hutton.

When Richards came on it really was night and day down that left side, but I don't agree that Richards is a better attacker down that flank - it will really depend on the opposition.
