Let's get it right, no one is advocating a move to Odsal, the point being made is that if the facilities were there then it wouldn't be the end of the world and despite what the drama queens think, the travel options are pretty similar to VP in many ways and certainly superior for anyone travelling from outside the City.

Mind you given about 12000 of the 15000 ("the vast majority") all travel from Idle perhaps we should build a stadium there and put an ironic twist on the name for the City fans that find watching a Bradford City play 20 minutes from their houses a chore.

Just had a look at the maps and that appears to be untrue, it runs to the interchange

I was pointing out we have a perfectly good stadium, which is central to most of Bradford, not one that is on any side of the city . Why the need for sarcasm. in my eyes once you drop to those levels , you know you have lost the debate.

So, new stadium, new train line, new bus routes, new training facilities, new pubs and new eateries to open within walking distance of this new area...... I don't think we are asking for much at all really, I'm amazed Rupp cant find a buyer o_O

New ownership that can afford "real change" to our infrastructure to match the size of the fanbase is mutli-millions away and unfortunately a pipe dream right now. In our position, we're 99% likely to sign another long term lease, because that's all we can afford to do, right now. At least we can all look forward to that commercial announcement with Sparks smiling outside VP in between two 9ft mascots from Flamingo land.

You are correct. There are no ‘direct trains’ from Shipley to Low Moor. There never have been.

    https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/journey-planner/?type=single&origin=SHY&destination=LMR&leavingType=arriving&leavingDate=191024&leavingHour=14&leavingMin=00&adults=1&extraTime=0#O

In the comparable time frame, there are five trains from Shipley per hour, compared to two to Low Moor. In fact between 12.28 and 13.58 there are a total of eight trains from Shipley to Forster Square.

I thought that was the case seeing that both lines end in stations in the city centre and the debate around linking them to provide a through route during the hole in the ground shopping mall scandal. So travel by train from one side of the city to the other is pretty poor having to get off at 1 then walk 10 minutes to the other station and train timings etc.
Not a big train user to be honest, last time in may, when the last train from Leeds to Bradford at night was cancelled after we had all sat on it for a good 30 mins, because someone decided to have a walk on the line at Armley

The infastructure around VP is alright, close to a train station ,on many a bus route -major roads into the city and plenty of bars and food outlets in reasonable walking distance.
The issue is mainly parking, which has not been helped by BMDC, closing roads and making large parts around the stadium no go parking area's for fans attending, whilst turning a blind eye to the car issues caused by the wedding venues and other shops around the area, who's client see the pavement as their own parking space.
The latest brain dead idea to close a section of a Manningham lane in one direction , in favour of buses , taxis and walking, forcing the traffic onto Canal and Carlisle roads is only going to make things worse

Which is in a shithole with no discerning features whatsoever. I don't mind Valley Parade despite the stand shapes playing hell with my OCD but having gone to Odsal many times as a City and Northern/Bulls fan there seems to be a lot of misconceptions about the place.
I have an open mind on Valley Parade, it's adequate for what we will probably ever need but if someone offered me the chance of a new stadium that would benefit future generations of City fans I'd take it hands down. A new stadium occupying the land where Halfords currently sits, 5 minutes walk from the city centre for all those that hate walking more than 22 minutes is ideal.

My backside is not glued to my VP seat , and yes the area around is not the best. if in our wildest dreams we were bought out by this cash cow with the option of new stadium, then of course we have to look at it from all optoins.
It just is not going to happen any time soon and if it did this new owner is not doing it for free and would want a return at some point.

Not if, as you suggested, you live in Idle, Thackley or Shipley you can't.

I'm in the same boat. Manningham is a dump of a place that isn't going to improve any time soon. I'm not tied into VP, if there was a new option on the table I'd take it every day of the week. But for the world we are in, that's a bit pie in the sky still for us, unfortunately.

My fear at the minute is the PR that is going to come from the club when the details of the newer, pricer lease is signed. Sparks with yet another gem like "the rent won't be a problem once we are in the championship" and see how many fall for that type of nonsense once again.

Even better, lets buy Elland road, after the expansion, we can give them Vadane as a down payment.
