    Absolutely
Mr Gibb is a shrewd business man as well as a member of the "Bantam Family";);)
No way on earth is he going to sell a lucrative asset that provides a steady revenue stream for the pension fund
He also knows that whilst Mr Rupp is the owner that no way will he fund the building of a new stadium even if there was a suitable site available it really is that obvious
I call like this seasons squad investment all bluster
Sooner Mr Rupp finds a buyer the better a must before he renews another lease

Agree, with the exception of your second last sentence. We just don’t know Didnt he suggest nothing of the sort rather on the “ Footballing side being more competitive” or some inane meaningless, ambiguous drivel.

Unless City threaten to not renew the lease and move to somewhere like Odsal then Gibb can name his price.

Absolutely , but it satisfied some whose “ interpretation” wants it to mean something, when in reality…… He’s clearly spent additional funds over and above originally budgeted, KMcD for example and the large amount invested in the pitch ( “ Footballing side”) . There’s more but those who thought he would spend several £m on the squad I really have little sympathy.

    Move or build new ground
Pay over the odds to buy back
    Sign new 20 year lease

    That's pretty much it.

Agree to an extent but Valley Parade without us in it is like another Richard Dunn's

And then there's the money they're paying Wyke, supposedly around 5k a week for a player that's not been prolific for years and had health scares. Eventually something sticks but i think we'll be out of this league before them. I would absolutely rather have their owners though as any city fan would

If he can't or won't get a deal done before the renewal date, then we shouldn't sign up to another 25 years and leave the next owner stuck in a deal that drains vital resource from the first team. Maybe a 5 or 10 year deal might be an option. I don't know whether that could be an option.

Oh I'm sure it could, given we've been told Mr Gibb has only the best intentions where Bradford City is concerned.

Think the ship has sailed on the new ground plan. Not a chance one would be ready by the time the lease is up, and not a chance anyone on board currently could fund it, or have our bankrupt council help fund it either. In terms of moving, would Odsal even pass EFL regulations these days?

We are down to 2 for me, either sign on again at another daft rate or pay a mental price to own it. If we sign on again, isn't there some legality around the lease per year price? I might be mental but something in the back of my mind says because we are signing onto something owned by a pension fund rather than like a private owner, the rates have to be at a certain point and wont be negated on to be lower? Might be completely wrong on that one.

I don't even think there would be a 5/10 year option on the table, as that indicates you have a long term plan to either buy or move. The longer time ticks by, the more sure I am that we'll sign another 20+ year incremental lease and be in the same boat as the other options just aren't affordable under Rupp.

The Pension Fund own the stadium (as you know) and I would think G Gibb is an advisor along with others making sure if the stadium was for sale they get the best deal possible, Gibb and the advisors would be selling the stadium to Rupp on behalf of the Flamingo Land Pension Fund, any deal Rupp did would have to maintain or improve the present income the stadium has generated over the last 21 years hence they would need something in access of their present rent, not sure why you think were selling them the club ?.

I don't think anyone is suggesting Odsal in it's present state. If you look at the pitch level in relation to the road and footprint/area it occupies it is very similar to the MK Dons stadium. I would prefer to stay at Valley Parade but if it means the Bantams moving forward I am relatively open minded.

I reckon you would be looking at £50 million plus to get Odsal anywhere near a 20000 all seater stadium and i include £5 million in that to buy out the council, as current owners, you would not have them involved in any capacity and how would it be run with the bulls and their 12 home games with crowds of around 3000, 36000 paying fans in total, we can pull that in 2 games. Is this not why the giants are leaving their current home, as it does not work for them and they are super league.
On top of all that its a bloody nightmare to get to for home supporters, unless you go by bike and that's not happening on a bloody freezing piss wet through winters game.
On a side note the council could have built a new stadium with all the money pissed up the wall on bike lanes. £8million the latest on Thornton road, that will stop dead at four lane ends. It was meant to go to Halifax road at Denholme, but once started the cost tripled to £20 +million. Someone somewhere is right royally taking the piss.

I never thought or suggested we are selling them the club and I fully agree with the above post. It was your original post that I misread as it's worded quite strangely so had to ask you the question to clarify your point.

The shorter the deal the higher the premium , that’s how leases work!
