At the risk of being a happy clapper, which God knows I'm not, how can any City fan be not pleased at the position where we find ourselves tonight given our horrendous injury problems? I thought we played brilliantly today and can't fault anyone's performance. I have all the reservations of everybody else about how we've gone about things but the season's very young and it's all there for the taking. Let's try and be positive about our prospects and see how we go.

Not me.. shi&e league but think it’s says it all that we 3 points off the top rather than us top and walking away with it.

Good win today but still too early for us to say we will be in the mix because we have been shi@te also.

I agree. Plus I thought Kav had his best game so far. An assist for the 2nd goal , a good shot saved by keeper and in the 1st half there was a brilliant bit of skill when he brought down an over hit cross to the far post and then flicked the ball to Cookie.

Can't disagree with that. To be honest, this season is all about getting out of this league, but we've been far from convincing and in some games have been shocking.
Today was a solid performance albeit against woeful opposition. Need to back that up now in the coming weeks against stronger teams.

You say woeful opposition, but prior to yesterday, Tranmere had only lost 2 in the league. Not an easy team to beat. They might not be the best, but tough opponents non the less.

We snapped out of our winless streak sooner than we were able to last season - and we posted a good, solid win today.

Of course we're not going to just steamroll everyone, but I am slightly concerned about facing better competition - which will be our next few games.

Our defence is just a little leaky, and patched up to high heaven - but we're going to see if anyone in the division is actually good, or just consistent. If they're good, they'll take a defence including multiple full backs apart piecemeal, but I kinda think the rest of the division is 'meh'. I also think we're a little bit 'meh' outside of Andy Cook, who is proving once again he's legendary at this level.

I thought they were certainly woeful yesterday. I don't think Sam Walker will have an easier away game all season!
At the other end we didn't create much either but we have the best finisher in the league which made all the difference

I agree Tranmere could have played until next Saturday and not scored. However, we still have the 6th best defence in the league, despite it being our 2nd (or even 3rd!) string for half the season

But it frittered away to nothingness on the approach to or at the edge of the box . Theirs was the worst offensive line we have seen all season tbh?

7 points from last 3 matches.
Gillingham at home next but they're not in form and we are doing it without

    Byrne
    Baldwin
    Kelly
    Sarcevic
    Pattison

More reason to be optimistic than negative.

Byrne was ill yesterday albeit it didn't sound a simple thing but I'd reckon he's more likely than not to be ready for Saturday.

And an out of form Halliday, out of form Wright, out of form Kavanagh . ( Slightly better yesterday).

Getting Benn in was a master stroke at least.

What has happened to Sanderson? Not even on the bench?

Totally agree. There were a lot of people moaning about this signing, but with Johnson’s ongoing injuries, it was right that we had backup/competition in this area. And he’s a different type of player and looks more comfortable as a wing back than Brad who you would say is more of a traditional right back.

I’m impressed with him, still a lot to learn but I can see why his parent club signed him.
