Seen the replay and entirely agree. Think it was simply Wirral flavoured sour grapes

Was better tonight than he was vs Newport, tbf.

our overall stats arent that bad defensively, maybe im being a bit critical.

nice to register a clean sheet today.

feared Omari might have bagged today.

Comfortable win. Can’t really say they bothered us at all. We seemed to have won that without having to get out of second gear. Besides our goals, I don’t think we tested their keeper much. Kav a shot in the second half.

Players getting injured at the back worries me. Benn kept pulling up with cramp, so I thought he’d be off next. No standout player for me, due to it being quite a strange game of no quality, but at the same time wasn’t a load of rubbish. Tranmere tired towards the end, spraying passes into touch, so it’s great we can bring on some old heads to manage the game, and Sir Bob of Pointon to stretch heavy oppo legs.

Three points off the top - who’d have thunk it?

We’re more than good enough for promotion. 3 points off the top with all those injuries and everything looking bleak a week or two ago. As long as we have at least 3 fit centre halves for every game I think we’ll finally get the job done this season

We're still in goal a game territory defensively. We just played a side who have an abysmal front line.

Two wins in two. Good performance on Monday with an ok one today which I thought they would "bottle".

Big test next Saturday. I'm not convinced. Good evening happy clappers.

We had a right back and a left back playing in the back 3 at one time, considering our incredible bad run with injuries which is 7 out at the moment we’re doing ok.

Tranmere had some decent possession first half but ran out of ideas and looked poor by the end. Any away win is welcome but we shouldn’t be getting ahead of ourselves. This is a poor division compared to last season. See Carlisle. Better judgement might be made after the next run of fixtures which should be more difficult.

That’s true however they just frittered away the ball more freely than ourselves Jon. Did Walker have more than one decent save to make the entire game? Their forward line were pretty non existent , even Patrick other than one run into the box was extremely disappointing. Benn made him look ordinary imho.

Their best players were in central defence and midfield.

That's an embarrassing front line to be left with, and it's not like they're just suddenly mediocre.

I suspect Cookie is the kind of lad that loves an argument about a lot of things on the pitch. That said, I think he was saying something about someone needing to go out towards the thrower or outside the box or needing more people out at the side to try and stop the throw in being easy or the ball into the box being easy. If that's right, he does have a point, we don't seem to harass their players when they have a throw in and they seem to get possession quite easily.

We need to play each game as it comes but I think Donny will be a good yardstick of where we are. They've had a solid start to the season.

Good away win while not playing very good and with half a team out injured.

    3 points off top spot.

    Happy Sat'day

A few games ago Barrow were a few points ahead of us and going well, while we seemed to be struggling. After today we're just a point behind them having lost at home to Morecambe!
Imagine us losing at home to Morecambe and sone would think the season was over!

I thought we played fairly well to be honest. Tranmere looked woeful, even worse than when we play poorly, this league is atrocious.

Professional performance, excellent defense, immense work rate. Reality is we need more goal contributions from other players.

Without Cook we are a midtable team.

Thought we played some decent stuff today. Great to see players giving everything for the cause as well - too many times over the years we’ve seen players going through the motions - not today - the players left everything out on the pitch.
