It’s just a case of throw the big lad on up top and hope for the best. There’s no thought to where he needs to be or how we play off him. It’s Sunday league at best.

If only we'd had the foresight and planning that MKD had.

Not having a go but, you said the same last season and yet you still renewed.
This is exactly what Rupp & Sparks bank on.

You can have a go if you want, but I was persuaded by the promise of action to rectify the problems, including the extra investment which quite clearly never materialised.

He'd get tired standing up for 90 minutes, m8.

    Me too.

I'm in the exact same situation.

I was convinced to buy another season ticket against my better judgement.

It is what it is. It's still too early to completely write the season off. We almost made the play offs last season, and while we haven't improved, a top 7 finish shouldn't be out of the question. This is a weak division, weaker than last season, and while we'll have poor form and shocking results like in any season, I'm getting concerned about away performances.

We have just played back to back away games against two of the very worst teams in the league and picked up 1 point - and were lucky to get that.

    This situation must improve, rapidly.

I'm not really interested in how good/bad Morecambe were, I'm more focused on us and how poor we were. Mistakes can happen at the back. These are league two defenders and Diabate tried to clear the ball and messed up. It's unfortunate.

The problem was us attacking or rather not attacking really. Benn played well, got some good crosses in and had a chance which he missed as he's clearly not used to be attacking. Smallwood and Oduor are far too deep. As someone else said, we need to be 5-10 metres higher up the pitch. Walker came in and out of the game but some of our better moments were him connecting/passing with Oduor. Wright is still a worry for me. We have no other option to play wide and his decision making/crossing is still not good enough. He needs to try and take on his man more and shoot more. We see more of that from Richards! He needs to be less risk averse and take a chance.

All-in-all, as I've said all season, we aren't creating enough chances. We can't expect a league two striker to score every chance. And, we're not seeing enough shots from our midfielders or them getting into the box where they could take a shot/head the ball from a cross.

I do understand the injuries point. It's been very disruptive and he clearly had a plan to play a back 3 and he hasn't really been able to. That's why I'm more forgiving of defensive errors because the current back four have been thrust together without a great deal of time to learn each other's game.

It's the top end of the pitch that is ridiculous. We under-scored last season, we seemed to create fewer chances and didn't really have a pattern of play to score goals. This season, it's the same. Ok, perhaps he couldn't shift on Oliver as he may have wanted but ffs figure out a way of playing with all the attacking midfielders that he has that can create us enough chances to gives us the hope of scoring enough goals. It's so annoying to watch aimless kicks up the pitch or never ending side to side passing. I still have no idea how he's telling the team to create chances this season and that was the absolute number one thing to fix over the summer.

I had the Morecambe commentary on last night, and one of the commentators asked the other what he thought of Vadaine Oliver during his time at Morecambe. The answer was that in all honesty he thought that Oliver had struggled during his time there.Seems nothing has changed.

This is what I suggested in my prior posts that fans were duped into renewing, yet got accused of calling fans out.
Call it duped, tricked, fooled or call it what you want

I stand by my post to exactly the fact lots had their minds changed.

I agree the whole squad lacks quality. I just don't understand why you'd single out the one player who is quality at the level we are currently at.

I think people renew because of the value for money game by game not as a nod of approval to how the club is being run.

I agree but, my point is Rupp & Sparks think that with the season ticket sales the club is being run well.

Unfortunately, fans renewing season tickets are a contributing factor to the clubs current demise/stagnation (myself included)

We’re all very clear now that nothing will change for the better under its current stewardship, which will continue if we keep on renewing season tickets.

If for instance we suddenly drop to 5 or 6k - heads will roll and change will happen. It’s guaranteed. If we carry on with 12,13,14k then everyone in the boardroom has done their job - what league we are in is irrelevant to Rupp, Sparks, Sharpe, Gent etc. They’re still getting handsomely paid while we continue to suffer.

For those on Direct Debits they should consider cancelling. I feel a bit sick having contributed in whole to this shite we’re being served up under the false guise of a professional football club

Whilst the cost is so low and interest free monthly payments are still available people will continue to let their direct debits roll over in the same way that people continue to pay their gym memberships even after they stop going.

    why do people do this?
It’s the fear of missing out I guess and the sacrificing of a seat they’ve had for their whole life.
The only thing that will stop most people renewing is if the club hike the prices up further and I don’t think they’ll do that.

I've no idea what the take up will be next season re ST sales. All I know is that our home games border on apathy regarding atmosphere on match day. Is it because of the underlying expectation of boring and insipid football? Or is it just a plain realisation that we're not very good? No ball winners. No pace. No expectation.

This was my original quote and Cook was the only one I singled out as being quality.

Attendances haven't yet dropped at home like they did last season.

We're still getting a good turnout. I suspect that will continue until we lose home form, or are realistically not competing with the top 7.
