Unfortunately our fan base has mostly been low until the premier league days
It slowly dwindled over the years and the owners knew last season would have been the last straw for those era of fans.
The letter was a desperate attempt to keep the 15-16k home support, and without the influential choice of words, that would have lost them almost half, especially with the price increase
We would have been back to the “hardcore” fans who see the club through thick and thin, investing regardless of success

You could argue we could have made changes in most game so far at half time and that's the most worrying thing.

Sounded a dreadful game but why doesn't that surprise me.

After having a cracking day in Prague, why didn't reading the match report and this site surprise me?

Now to a belting night in Prague....

    Rupp out

I don’t understand an opinion like this really.
Does anyone honestly believe that if 14000 people just sacked it off and we played in an empty stadium that somehow that would turn the clubs fortunes around?
    A. Yes it might get rid of Rupp but only because he’d simply shut up shop and walk away. 5 million lost investment means nothing to him.
    B. Even if the club survived another administration, it would be at a level way below the EFL and absolutely would not be at VP.

As someone mentioned above, the promises that owners make to fans at ANY football club are not the reasons they renew season tickets and keep attending, there’s other factors such like meeting family, socialising, getting out of the house.

I thought the same coming home from Walsall when you were most likely home for 6pm

Perhaps he should have made the subs after 20 minutes and made a real statement.

Why would he "Shut up shop and walk away" when buyers are willing to buy but not at his inflated price do you think he is so vindictive, would the FL even allow him to do it, he's a business man rich or not he would think somethings better than nothing back on a failed investment I really can't agree with you there
With well over 50 years support behind me and for various reasons have not renewed this season in years gone by I would have done even if I could only attend a handful of matches but not under this leadership pretty sure am not alone
Believe it or not VP isn't the only place to meet family, socialise or reason to leave the house on a Saturday afternoon
other forms of entertainment do exist
Mr Rupps pledges didn't influence me either way but as yet I see no evidence of them
Each to their own believe me it would give me the greatest of pleasure to get out of the khazi league but can't see it happening in the right direction under this stewardship

it was 5 seasons after Premiership days when Julian made that fantastic offer of cheap season tickets in 2007, if we bought over a certain amount the fans took to the offer and backed the club in fantastic numbers, I don't think anyone would argue our attendances would suffer if not for the season ticket price, that was one of the major reasons Julian made the offer why have a stadium a third full if by reducing the cost of a season ticket we could get 14,000 upwards to attend but lets not kid ourselves when and if we get promoted IMO Ryan will increase the cost beyond inflation etc and will gradually bring us more in line with other clubs in that league, it will then be interesting to see the response from fans.

Sorry but he is the reason there is NO ambition at this club, He promises change but every year, our recruitment belies what he says. Really don't understand him; he wants to sell but won't until he gets his money back. He bought a high end div 1 club and now has a stagnant mid table div 2 club.

Not too sure about that Eccy, in the three seasons before the Premiership (Division 1) our average home crowd was 1996/7 12,925 1997/8 15,565 1998/9 14,297
    Not too bad really.

There is no chance of promotion under the current set up. Ambition is led from the top. Our owner has no interest in us but won't sell. Our ceo is a BS'er and our recruitment team is stealing from us.

    Said it all pre-season and several times already this season;

We do not create enough chances to score goals.

We can't rely on a league two striker scoring one goal with one chance. There's a reason they play in league two!

The defence was shakey today but they can't keep a clean sheet every match. They've almost overperformed to get us points this season and the end of last season because we are creating so little and scoring with so few chances.

GA is to blame for that. He has so many attacking options yet seems to set up the team in a way that doesn't play to the attacking players strengths - why?

I'm sorry but it looks like he doesn't know how to set up the team and use a pattern of play that creates chances. Ignore the injuries. They're almost all defenders. He has many attacking options but doesn't seem to know how to get them to play.

I get the championship we had better crowds but was on the journey to the prem.
The point was, we’ve mostly been in lower leagues and had low support.
Eventually we will see those crowds below 10k and I’m guessing we won’t have to wait too long
