Wright (shite) - Appalling.

 

If Collins hangs on going to be "interesting" what happens with Wright ?; because if his performances don't improve he can't carry on picking him just because he's Captain surely ?. So he will be forced to drop him and that would be a clear verdict on Collins own judgement of a player he clearly earmarked as his "standard bearer". In fact if you listen to Collins post match he defines Luka Colville as having the attitude & attributes "you want to see out there" so can we expect Colville be the next one for the armband ?

 

There's a popular cliche which goes something along the lines of "I'm glad Rahic and Abbott don't look at fans forums to sign players", and even that's losing all credibility because I wish they did. A quick look at Gillingham and Southend forum would tell you Josh Wright is utter crap. You've got to ask yourself why we are bringing in serial failures into the club and expecting them to be major assets to the team. We did it with Poleon, we did it with Chicksen and we've now done it with Wright.

We never learn.

 

Don’t have a clue what Wright is supposed to be good at? Can’t tackle, pass and is constantly out of position. Thought it was harsh on Akpan getting subbed as he’s doing two men’s jobs.

Harsh on Akpan?. The guy looks like he doesn't care. I've seen people put more effort playing football on the beach. Not ideal, but would rather have a 17 year kid in his place who would show a bit of desire. I would suggest it is Wright having to do the job of 2 players.

Has Wright (or any other player) fronted up with a post-Wycombe interview? I don't get any sense of a captain who's willing to take responibility for his team's pitiful performance. I suspect he'll be straight out to take the plaudits if/when we play well to win.

Not that it matters now; but I asked everyone around me if I was the only one who had no idea who Josh Wright was or played for before he signed for City ! ? I had heard of Mark Wright the Reality guy and he is a half decent footballer? But never knew he had a brother in the professional game?. We have played Southend and watched those games Home & Away but never noticed Josh Wright ? You know what ?....I wasnt the only one !

This fkn Essex boy is absolute useless, we need midfielders who want the ball and are comfortable on it. For all Laws flaws last season he is a huge upgrade on both the current midfielders. 2 proven CMs required before Thursdays deadline or else we are going down, it's that serious!!!

Clueless. Akpan was the only player in that first half with any passion and effort. Was fighting for the ball all over the pitch and tried to drive us forward a few times.
Wright fluttered about doing nothing of note.

Wright is a pathetic excuse for a central midfielder.

Akpan has looked poor so fae, but has been involved.

Wright is anonymous, hides from the ball, is slow and ponderous if he does actually end up with it at his feet. If he plays week in week out this season we are doomed.

 

You are right IMO on all counts. The only thing you didn't do was take your argument to its logical conclusion. Who appointed Collins?
