In a lot cases it would be nigh on impossible for a linesman to indicate the true point the ball left the pitch as he would be looking along a straight line from upto 50 yards away ,unless it was in his half of course. Ref would have a better view but it's something else taking away from his job.

I know what you are saying , and it is frustrating watching someone march down the pitch but on the other it's amusing just how irate some folk get about it

Something that did make me chuckle yesterday, our corner in the first half.

Smallwood rolled the ball about 6 inches for wright to cross it in, might aswell just let wright take the bloody corner

Agree mate, throw in's get my goat.
Where the ball goes out of play is where the throw in should take place.
However, the thrower picks up the ball, edges forward x times, then takes a run up to throw the ball!
Continually pinching 10yds at least - and the weak kneed refs do nothing.
The refs have a spray for free kicks and mark the place where the ball will be, then where the defenders will stand.
Why can't they also mark where the throw in will take place?

If they take a quick free kick and it’s launched upfield, then he’d be completely out of position if he’s still near the touchline. The easiest way to deal with it is to reverse his decision and give the throw to other team. That should stop the creeping up the line.

Nah Smallwood would never allow that. Thinks he’s Gerrard that man.

So what you’re saying is the exact same chain of events after us going 2-1 up would have ended up with them scoring their goal?
    Nonsense
It’s indirectly blaming the referee for our failings to create and score goals
    It’s weak arguments

Doubt a National League ref could have quelled Wimbledon's tactics. Their holding and pulling right from the off was incessant. The ref did nothing about it.

Unlike you I give praise when needed and are you going to go on here every game until it’s my turn when he has a crap game as he did last week at Walsall. Baldwin was excellent in the Salford game and the Bromley game when he was man of the match but you are so intransigent in your views you won’t change your mind. For the record if it makes you happy he was superb yesterday as was Diabate.

To confuse the defensive set up and provide a different angle on the cross

I share your view. The equivalent of the lino in NFL have a towel to use to indicate where the ball has gone out of play etc. Footie linos could use something similar or as you suggest provide them with the same spray used by the ref. None of it is rocket science. It simply requires the domestic football authorities to get their act together.

Wouldn't that then require 4 linos instead of 2 though?
