We have SO MANY attacking players but how many clear cut chances do we create?

GA is a lovely guy but his tactics are utter gash at times.

 

I posted Wright is not a defender so maybe even bringing a right footed Benn on at left back would have been better, poor call to the extent that he nearly gave a goal away with his poor defensive decisions.

 

I totally agree , but I come back to the point, is the ref responsible for us not being able to break teams down?
Every single game we play poorly, irrespective of manager, we seem to blame the ref as a default position.

 

Gets boring hearing it every week. Thought both teams cancelled each other out where both defences were on top. Bit disappointed with Wimbledon, heard some on here signing their praises but that was the most lacklustre side i've seen at Valley Parade for some time. Came for a point playing the most direct football i can remember, strange as they produced the best passage of play resulting in them hitting both posts. Thought both Shepherd and Diabete were excellent, Pattison again showing what an engine he has. Richards looked competent at left back until being subbed and Smallwood steady enough. The rest were all over the place. Bobby looked lost out wide and not suited to that sort of game. Wright suffers from being moved all over the place, with both of them ineffective Cooky and Sanderson left chasing lost causes.
The positives, by chance we've found a cracking centre back partnership. The negatives, going four at the back Alexander doesn't have the immediate players available to play four at the back and go two up top, mainly due to recruitment aimed at playing a 3-5-2.
Food for thought for Alexander in how he gets the balance of being defensively solid and yet also creative in the final third.

 

As Lewis alludes to in his post match interview, I was surprised they didn't come at us from the start as their first half showing was poor.

We didn't do enough to win the game no doubt but today I'm sorry the referee played a big part in allowing Wimbledon to carry out what was obviously their plan to frustrate and try and get the fans on the players back, and he has take criticism for his poor refereeing first half in particular, the second half free kick antics should have been a yellow but once again he bottled it and that was well into the game.

 

Thought we started really well, a bit of width and a bit of zip, but then after 20 mins it seemed Wimbledon made a tweek and we never really got going again.

Cook was knackered after half an hour, not sure what was wrong but he was blowing out his arse. Makes the daft decision to play him for twenty minutes on Tuesday whilst 3-0 up more baffling.

Where has halliday gone, seems scared to put a ball in now and even defensively he doesn't seem the same.

Smallwood and pattison were busy without making an influence

Pointon showed why he doesn't get starts, not fit enough really, fades in and out of the games and currently more suited as an impact sub.

Him and Wright both looked ok but faded badly.

Wright is a shadow of himself, he isn't enjoying his football maybe he doesn't like been further down the pitch but his head is always down and his confidence looks shot.

Thought shepherd and diabete were really good, diabete especially who never looks flustered even when seemingly under pressure or in a tight spot

 

Its an easy way out the same for last week .......if there ref was ok for both games do these folk really believe that we would have won.
Sadly at this level the refs are gonna be poor but you cannot continue to blame them on the back of two sub standard league performances

Ref seems to always be pivotal when we don’t win

The ref today was poor and yes maybe should have handed a yellow or two to their players but…

There was no real critical or match changing decision against us that denied us winning the game.

TBH I’m surprised no one has mentioned the fact he did us a favour and did not send off Smallwood for the lunge on their player.

We can only blame ourselves for not getting a better result today.

 

Wright looks disinterested,but I doubt Alexander dare drop him.

 

If they had Andy Cook. They’d win 2/3-0 today

 

Just can’t see any tactical nous from GA it’s conservative and it’s one dimensional, I think we have the players to be more pragmatic and change things but we seem to just employ managers who are 10 years behind modern football.

Well again last week at Walsall he made two controversial calls IMO one for the penalty which I watched over again and think he played to the Walsall fans and players screams for a pen certainly no worse that today Adams challenge, and the second for no more that a good physical aerial battle between our centre forward and a Walsall defender, unfortunately for us because Walsall got the free kick quickly out to their winger we didn't have time to organise at the back and they scored a very well worked goal and took all three points, but if you miss chances like Oduor did maybe we would have come away with at least a point.

 

Just seen the match highlights and Adams was absolutely taken out in the box-a foul any day of the week anywhere else on the pitch.

 

Boring game, nothing really to compliment other then shepherd and diabate who I thought were class today!

 

What was wrong with our first half performance we had most of the game without dominating then losing Richards who was a big part of that good first half we struggled especially with Tyreik at full back which it seems most know he cant play apart from Alexander.

Didn't see any of the game today as resting up after a back op, sounds like we might have been unlucky with a couple more key ref decisions but does anyone else get the feeling GA is using it to hide some of his own shortcomings and the attacking ineptitude of our team in his interviews?

Would have been a harsh penalty had that been given against us and possibly outside the box

Again, the referee is in the spotlight for our own failings

 

I've not read a post as yet that is blaming thee referee for the result, most are saying some of his calls to try and keep the game flowing were strange to say the least, most could see from the first minute how Wimbledon had set up to slow the game down stopping the flow of the game of which we were very much on top first half, but he never penalised them for their tactics, IMO a early yellow would have put an end to Wimbledon's obvious intentions with regards spoil tactics.
