Richard’s was excellent in the first half. Must have gone off with an injury. Or GA has a brain injury.

second half was awful and we probably should have lost.

Tyler Smith doesn’t even make the bench…

I'm a big Andy Cook fan but as we saw he once again got little from Wimbledon defender and no protection from the referee so I agree why not take Andy off instead of Sanderson and replace him withy Kavanagh.
First half I thought we very much controlled without dominating but looked a threat going forward without creating many clear cut chances, but how can the loss of Richards turn us into a team that looked void of ideas second half, once Richards didn't return why did Alexander think Wright could just drop into the left full back position, I get Benn is right footed but he's a natural defender and in all honesty couldn't have performed any worse than Tyriek, I've said it from the start of the season no problem with Wright going forward but his defensive duties leave a massive question mark IMO.

 

He let Wimbledon get away with far too much not even booking their player when we got a free kick and their player didn't retreat 10 yards that in itself I believe is a bookable offence.

 

Well we certainly got away with a few there. I thought their goal should have stood as it was shepherds touch that put their striker through. Their keeper also made good saves and we should have had a penalty so a point probably fair.
Thought we really missed walker in the centre today and Richards coming off killed us. Must’ve picked up a knock?
Can’t comment much on the first half as I couldn’t take my eyes off their 31’s shorts. What a pillock

 

Totally agree. He'd be still picking the immobile Byrne if he didn't get injured. And we wouldn't have signed Diabate if it weren't for a last minute decision.

 

How many times did the ref warn their 9 to stop fouling only for him to carry on.

Really poor second half after enforced changes

Thought Richards had a good game and Adams showed glimpses in the 10 moins or so he was on.

Bobby completely missing for long spells.

Wright was really poor and looks a yard or three off the pace of the game.

The 2 centre halves were my MOTM-everyone else pretty average.

 

Overall... Crap.. every single player of ours, crap.

 

What utter bollocks. How anyone could have watched that game and not seen that our two centre backs were excellent is beyond me. You do talk some hysterical nonsense at times.

 

I haven’t posted in a couple of years because I’ve pretty much lost interest, even though I’ve had a season ticket for over 30 years; I do read most threads, however.
I’ve posted today mainly because I want to know what people whose posts begin, ‘The ref…’, are genuinely thinking in terms of blame for that abject shower.

 

I posted during the game the ref was trying to be far too clever in allowing the game to flow. As it went on he let more and more go and more and more blatant fouling went unpunished , he would no way on earth give that as a pen as he had nowhere left to go . He had burnt all his bridges!
Guess what happened? He lost complete control and eventually lost his head. No wonder players on both sides got riled , but boy were THEY the beneficiaries.

 

Both were outstanding today.

I actually thought Oliver did pretty well when he came on winning several headers where the ball went into dangerous areas. But the only player he could possibly get it to was the immobile Cook. We should have either left Sanderson on or brought Kavanagh on. That was very naive by Alexander. He has to learn that for all he does for us there are games where Cook is completely ineffective and he has to be brave enough to bring him off.

 

No, but was he responsible for our performance?

 

I certainly don't have a go at referees because my team is inept, in fact I have said we could have finished up losing the game and that was not down to the referee, but if you were at the game then you could see the man in the middle was as @Offcomedun says trying to let the game flow but to what extent, a blind man could see their tactics from the off, an early yellow would IMO stopped most of what we saw with regards spoiling tactics from Wimbledon first half, they certainly up their game second half and didn't need to use their spoiling tactics as they looked a competent side on the ball and at times we got lucky, but some of the referees none decisions left a lot to be desired IMO.

 

We can't possibly play Wright as a left back. I'd have put haliday there and brought the loan right back on forgot his name. Not ideal but at least its 4 defenders.

 

What was wrong with our first half performance in between the fouls that went unpunished ?.

 

Just to clear up my previous post, I wasn't criticising Oliver, who seems to have started the season trying to show he's a half decent striker, my criticism was to GA in putting on a similar striker to Cook even though there was no plan to get wide and get crosses in the box. If we're not going to do that then we need a different striker not more of the same.

 

Wimbledon top three. They just have a great balance of height, speed and ability. How they didn’t score was shocking but they’re a top side in L2. A draw is good
