Just didn’t see them scoring without Walker throwing it in his own net.

Agreed they had some nice build up play but very little threat in the box.

    Such an important win today.

They'll turn it around and be close to the play offs but we didn't need to be giving them a leg up today.

A draw today and we'd have been midtable nothing again. So important to get the win and stay close to the top.

Wasn't the best performance. If we'd gone two up they would have dropped off the way they did when we went 2-1 up but we won at least.

They arguably moved the ball better than we did and in the number 24 they had a real livewire but without that front man they will struggle to register wins. To be fair if Wyke puts that easy chance away I think they go on and win. Most important rule of football to take your chances when they come along.

If you were looking for a performance to shut down the negative comments I'm afraid that today's wasn't the one. I'd have kept my powder dry for a performance that's indicative of a team on track for promotion.

It’s the old “we won so nobody is allowed to analyse the game and potentially pick out weaknesses” scenario that's trotted out regularly.

The win (while very welcome) supposedly stops all discussion.

10 points from 5 games, is indicative of a team on track for promotion

We had the same nonsense early doors last season. All was rosy after we hobbled over the line at home against Colchester at the start of last season. Every concern met with 'but we won.'

    Cool story, bro.

Let's see if we have 20 after 10 and maybe I'll agree with you.

I don’t mean to be negative on the back of a good win but we played a team in complete turmoil with no manager and we rely so heavily on Cook. Without him I dread to think where we’d be.

I'd suggest a forecast based on performances is a more sensible approach but requires a bit more thought. Amongst other things a small sample of games is not reflective of the league we are in. We've only played one side in MK Dons who are tipped to be up there and even they've had an unremarkable start. We've seen enough league 2 football to know where are performances need to be. We aren't looking like a team getting promoted.

Good to get the win today but a very frustrating game. Both sides constantly giving the ball away.
For all the talent we seem to have in midfield we're still struggling to find the right combinations. Individually we often have players that have decent games but nothing much comes from it collectively. Yet again very few real chances created today. No really outstanding performances, most 6 or 7. But Wright, despite the great cross for the winner, was truly dreadful today, right from the very first minute when he made no effort whatsoever to get back once we'd lost the ball and we nearly conceded. That happened time and again. And his pass to no one was just laughable. Use him as an impact sub if need be. Richards is a much safer bet for me.
But despite all this we're in a healthy position so far. We can only hope these issues can be resolved.

Thought Carlisle were decent. Game could easily have finished 2-2. Walker MOTM for me. Such an intelligent player. Uses the ball so well. It’s a mystery why he didn’t start the season.
smallwood too was excellent breaking up play organising us.
Kelly and Wright were poor today. On another day we would have been punished. Take the win and move on. Our football is far from convincing almost rinse and repeat the last few seasons but 2 points a game on average gets you up. Playing iffy and accumulating points at that rate is no bad thing. I’m just unconvinced by the side at present. We look like we will concede goals and it’s hard work scoring. Fingers crossed we continue to improve.

Agree, except I would say they do have a quality striker, just one that hasn't found his form yet.

I think Wyke will come good, but luckily for us, Cook is good already.

Played them at the right time, IMO, little danger of Carlisle having a bad season, they'll turn it round once they get a new gaffer installed.

First half is how we will be promoted, continue with the performances in the second half and we will be in the playoffs. We should not be pumping balls forward to no one and inviting pressure from the opposition, also how many times do we let the opposition run with the ball through our midfield and then either give a cheap free kick away or let them have a shot? Smallwood can’t be expected to do it all on his own.

Carlisle were pure dog muck apart from Sadi and Vela who both looked good. Our fans are so easily pleased with the opposition sides. Be surprised if they stay up based on form, overall play and coaching

Needs to be a launchpad win. I think there's a good side in the parts Carlisle have but they play with absolutely zero confidence and Charlie Wyke has lost all presence up top.

Thought Jamie Walker shown why he needs to start. That bite and drive he has in midfield are tools that the others don't really have. Bit worried about Pointon, most games this seasons he's come on and lost the ball a lot. Even the Bromley game when he scored, he gave it away literally every time he had it other than that.

Not sure I saw Pointon give the ball away today.
Maybe you were mistaking him for Tyreik Wright.
