Nobody as far as I can tell is disputing that he is way off form and low on confidence, all of which will be impacting on every aspect of his game and performance . I don't know the reasons for that, but can guess that the way he is being asked to play won't be helping the situation. Therefore, the logical solution imo, would be either to play to his strengths if he is going to be on the pitch, or use a different player in that position altogether, such as Walker as happened on Tuesday night.

 

It is difficult to debate with someone who is so one dimensional. Can I tentatively suggest you think of what might have happened to the player who was not showing any of your “analysis” of his lack of football skills last season. A am looking at a player who at the end of last season played really well, but now he is not. GA thinks it is lack of fitness which maybe right, but I am inclined to think when a player is struggling it would be better to play him in a position he normally plays. Kav has not suddenly become poor player but he is struggling which is obvious to everyone.

You haven’t made an attempt to answer the question despite all the words other than we should change the entire team formation and structure , @Petrov, just to suit a player that isn’t fit and isn’t playing well. This gets dafter by the minute?

It’s far simpler to drop the unfit and underperforming player with someone who can play in the role is it not?

Kav has not started at all this season that’s why the question I posed was made.

 

As I said, not one person would disagree that Kav has not started well this season. There are going to be differences of opinion about why that is, you clearly don't think it has anything to do with how he is being asked to play, I do. Let's leave it at that.

Do you make a habit arguing with ppl who have an alternative view? Firstly no one is saying we should carry on playing a player who is not in form. If we have a player who can play as the manager wants then clearly he is going to play him. I do not understand why you keep on with this argument. Kav is out of form, I and others think it might well be the positions GA wants him to play, you think he is just crap. That is your view, I disagree if that is ok with you.

It is hard one to take on board after all the emphasis on preseason training and the hard slog in Austria. I just can’t believe any of them are unfit, by missing a few days of training. Match fitness comes with playing, he has featured in most of the matches.

 

I was pretty much in agreement with your first post on this subject, but I think you are going OTT now. Kav is off form and it's not quite happening for him at the moment. However, even if he got back to showing the good form he did towards the end of last season, he still doesn't possess the skillset to play as a 10.

 

He is fit, it's utter bollocks from Alexander that he isn't fit, absolute nonsense. Kavanagh was back in training before they flew to Austria in mid July, he was about 7-10 days behind the rest but even still..... he has been back in training for nearly 2 months and started 4 games!!! An unfit player doesn't start that many! GA is just trying to make excuses for an underperformer.

Had a bet with a lad from work that Cook would outscore both Wyke and Billy Sharp (not added together of course) still happy with it while Wyke does his best Vadaine Oliver impression and Sharp struggling to play more than an hour. I do expect both to be around 15-20 so obviously I'm hoping for another standout season from Cooky

 

Blinking heck, he should be able to pass the ball correctly whatever position he is in.

He's out of position as well judge, playing too deep, should be in the box feeding off Cooks knock downs
Am hoping he's dropped for tomorrow (let him get his focus back) and we play Sanderson up front with Cook
against a team low on confidence and on a terrible run (hoping for the moon I know) but you just never know

 

I personally don't care why Kav is not the Kav we saw at the latter end of last season, but I do believe Alexander should drop/rest him and play Sanderson as Cooks strike partner two goals in two games is something IMO Alexander can't and won't ignore.

I said originally , he’s out of form, we drop him. I also said why, and it’s not the positional role.
