*BEEP BEEP BEEP* park reversing, park reversing *BEEP BEEP BEEP*

Ps, I also said 8th to 14th which is in line with my comments.

What I don't keep suggesting is that we've "the best squad in the league". You clearly don't believe it or you'd have snapped my hands off.

I'll have anywhere up to £50 that we don't finish top 5. That's about in the middle of our predictions, how about that?

Keeping fingers tightly crossed Mr Alexander can squeeze a promotion out of the squad that has been assembled - for me the questions are how many of the permant squad who can be kept fit would be up to playing at an higher level in Div 1?

Didn't sound like it to me, Kev!

Not from the initial statements, anyway.

Probably like £100,000 plus 30 % sell on clause.

We have some good players and some mediocre players, but I wouldn't say the squad is particularly amazing overall.

If Cook is injured we are up the creek without a paddle.

If Sam Walker is injured we're scrambling round for an emergency loan.

If Richie Smallwood is injured, again, I think we're in trouble because the other midfielders don't seem to play that role. The only one who could was Gilliead and he's gone! If Brad Halliday is injured we've got a complete unknown as back up, that's 4 positions where we really don't seem to have quality back up. 4/11? We're gonna need some good luck.

I agree broadly with your sentiments on the quality of the squad overall not being good enough for a club with automatic promotion aspirations. The quality of the squad when everybody is fit and available and playing well is good imo but overly dependent on individual players in some key positions remaining fit and available for the entirety of the season. I doubt that will happen given our recent history.

It's marginally worse however if anything were to happen to Sam Walker. Our squad list registered with the EFL is likely to include 3 keepers - Walker, Doyle and Hadi. That's the normal situation. Unless one of the other two were also injured or ill at the same time, we'd be unlikely to get EFL's permission for an emergency loan for another keeper to replace Walker. We the fans might not regard either Doyle or Hadi as suitable or sufficiently experienced first team keepers but that's what the club has decided. We all need to keep our fingers crossed for Sam Walker!

Geez, really? I assumed Hadi wouldn't count, or that he wouldn't prevent us signing an emergency loan at least o_O

I'd much rather Hadi played than Doyle. Doyle is just nowhere near anymore.

    That's very worrying!

It is. The real alternative for us with an inexperienced, young keeper and the other whose best years, let's be honest, are behind him would be to scour the unattached/out of contract market for a short term replacement. That won't be that easy. Better we all keep crossing our fingers.

No joy at all in what I posted on page 438 but it wasn't rocket science or any great insight - anyone with half a football brain could see we have been stitched up again by some muppets who sadly dont have any football nous between them.
    Just so embarrassing

So good that when we needed to make that first sub we brought on an untried 20 year old from Fulham's academy to replace an untried 20 year old from Middlesbrough's academy.

So deflated tonight, I was convinced we would spank them, but we were absolute gash,
that Grimsby side will be mid table or lower, us similar on that showing

Six figure fee with add-ons plus sell-on clause apparently.

I think Park was quoting what the Grimsby manager said, something I think was a bit of gamesmanship on his part.
You are obviously brighter than Park and intellectually his superior (probably superior to all of us) but also aren't going to change his view on things so why continue to disguise bullying as debate.
