I mean, I'm happy to debate his inclusion and I'll give you my reasoning for including Diabate instead if you're interested but when you're describing any City player so far as having been "excellent" then it's probably already a lost cause.

Why not just be sensible and say Baldwin has done nothing wrong so far and deserves to retain his shirt? That's a decent base to start from at least without any hyperbole.

 

Both roles are up for grabs to be fair. The new two might not be any better than the other three!

Not having this not"giving it all" in training malarkey as an excuse not to play one of your better players
Walker should have started yesterday he's one of our better players who seems to perform when it matters a match day (Kavanagh must train well and is poor on the pitch I know which way around it should be)
And indeed Walker balanced the team up yesterday when he came on
May well be very far off the mark but I think words have been said between JW and GA
Sir Bobby was a terrible trainer (preferred the Belle Vue) but never lacked match day commitment
Paul McGrath another one who couldn't train but did it where it matters
If Walker was not giving it all in training why put him on the bench doesn't make sense

Non of us will know for sure how much has been put into the budget, how much was added and what we've made on our transfer dealings.
Yes Rupp is part of the problem but only part - however much was available the key question is what the 4 muppet brothers have done with it.

Additions of real quality? Signs of a real structure? A team with purpose, pace and balance? Only thing I can see is that we've added to the number of muppet brothers making these decisions with the distinctly underwhelming Sharpe added to the list.

And I just dont get a clearr picture of what Alexander is really trying to create, he says most of the right things but there is, in my eyes, just something missing.

Lets hope for a good week ahead, game time and opportunities for the fringe players on Tuesday and a performance of intent next weekend v Carlisle

I was only offering a reason why Alexander wasnt starting Jamie after being a part of that very good finish to last season, I honestly haven't seen from our 3 opening league games anyone who's been brought into the squad who can do better job than Jamie.
Yes mate good company prior to the game sat in the beer garden at the Farmhouse New Waltham cracking location, then as I posted a lack luster performance on the pitch, no excuses we were poor and rarely won a second ball infact we were second best alll round until Alexander brought Walker and Odour on we scored then Grimsby went into time wasting mode, you know me being a gluten for punishment I'm booked on for the Walsall game on the14th Sept .

 

I feel that despite the rhetoric from above a huge chunk of the fan base will feel that we've done things very cheaply this summer and at the moment words aren't matching the actions.

Even GA seems to have been drawn into contradicting himself. Whether that's him defending the owners or struggling with having upset a few of the players, who knows.

 

Very similar to Andy Cook playing the striker role both never renowned for their pace although I'd think Billy was always the faster of the two you develop the knack of being in the right place at the right time, a bit like you mate from years gone bye when it was your round you was always in the toilet .

 

I think we can safely say Billy Sharp would never sign for us if he played out 5,000 careers lol

 

Not one player has been anywhere near excellent so far. Wright has looked good going forward at times and Smallwood has been steady. Sam Walker with some good saves buts that's about it

Agree Jon, my point was that this is the type of player who would get us out of this terrible league.
Worry about the personnel when we've done it!!!

 

I'd say we've had a few 6 to 7s but equally we've had a few 5s. Overall it's been very average and inconsistent which is pretty much how I think it will go for the season and consistent with my prediction of an 8th - 14th finish which was derided by the great enlightened as recently as last week.

 

He is missing that creative spark, the ability to read the game and find a player that can come up with the goods. Now I don’t know whether they just can’t find that type of player or he costs too much or what,.

 

Think that's a bit OTT to be honest.

If you trawl through the messages and responses between myself and Park - Park had asked whether I thought it was a strong squad, to which I replied NO I didn't think it was and that it was an imbalanced one. Park added that the Grimsby manager thought it was the strongest in the league. So I was merely pointing out that Park was very conspicuous by his absence on here after the game following the (apparently) strongest squad in the league being completely outplayed by a less (apparently) strong squad in the league.

Parky was the right manager for Billy Sharp, my goodness, he'd have scored 40!

Hughes and Alexander much less so, and we'd probably have to bin off Cook, too, as they aren't going to play together.

Theoretically, Cook should be able to fire us to promotion - and, in fairness, very nearly did...

 

Gets nothing but praise on Twitter from a lot of fans does Baldwin. Are you sure you’re not just a little biased against him to suit your agenda.

 

He went off injured and no I’m not suggesting he picks an injured player but I’m assuming he isn’t out for the season.
