I'd go one step further and completely abandon the back 3 and put someone alongside Smallwood to stop us being so easy to pass through.

    Walker

    Halliday
    Diabate
    Shepherd
    Richards

    Smallwood
    Pattison

    Wright
    Walker
    Odour/Pointon

    Cook

Am I wrong in thinking Walker (j) might just be thinking he's done at City and thinking (and keeping fit) for what comes next for him in 8 months or so ... ?

Wouldn't be against that. Given we supposedly have an abundance of riches in the middle and are sparce in talent at either end, it would make sense to try and exploit that.

So you still wouldn’t have Baldwin even though he’s been excellent so far this season and can’t be blamed for yesterday as he went off injured after 9 minutes. Or is this your natural dislike of him and trying to prove a point. Incidentally I agree with a back four but Richards was hopeless as an out and out left back last season.

You surprise me! No place for Baldwin? Or Byrne? Or even Kelly? I'd have never guessed ;)

Although we've not done too badly taking into account our run from the back end of last season, I still aren't convinced that we have a team that can step up a gear and reach the necessary momentum to get out of this league. Momentum that the likes of Stockport and Wrexham have continued with as they occupy the first two spots in the league above, albeit early days

Its looking more likely he was brought in to take the pressure off Sparks mate other than that his position IMO is who knows ?

Thing is Monkey, I don’t see this as negative but more realist.
We aren’t just talking about a run of games or one season here, but a 6 year merry go round.

Fans calling this out is not negative. They’re just sick of being taken for mugs.
Especially with increased prices and nothing to show

    And just to add,
Being called a happy clapper is neither more offensive as being called negative.
If either is offensive to someone then that would slide down the snowflake path.

Yes agree. Our holding midfielder, and probably our best player, is out injured at the moment and I am hoping he makes the difference. At times it's better than watching some of the turgid stuff of last season. Hope you get into the groove - have a soft spot for City which is why I'm on here and can never fathom why individually you have better players but never quite get it right as a team whoever is in charge.

Didn't he want out at the end of last season but we invoked the extra 12 month clause on his contract ?.

But did he want out or just the security of a secure 2 year deal, it must be difficult in any job that involves a short term insecure contract is what I am saying really ...

Are you suggesting he should have picked an injured player?

Not sure mate but with him not figuring in the starting 11 so far you have to wonder if Jamie is not giving his all in training, once again when Oduor and Jamie came on we looked a more balance side going forward.

It would most likely be at Bobby Pointon’s expense!

    Watch BT go into meltdown!

We also get managers who achieved promotions with other clubs- Bowyer,Hopkin,Adams,Alexander or a manager who did it in the premier league and a stint as a national coach(ok it was only Wales boyo!)
    Same result though :sob::weary_face::sob::weary_face:

There will be no fundamental change until we have a new owner and a new leadership with decent experience. Not a penny more ....

I think you have to look upwards. Rupp has carried on the sustainable model which he inherited off Rhodes. Which might in years gone past be a good model. The problem with that now, other teams are not staying sustainable, they are going all in and buying players from other clubs that the clubs and managers want to keep. We on the other hand buy players we can afford, which inevitably means buying players that other clubs want to get rid of. Even if we manage by some fluke to get up, we will not have players that can compete.

On another note, Billy Sharp scored his 3rd of the season yesterday. But dont worry, we have Kavanagh and Oliver so didnt need him.
