Frankly my dears, I couldn’t give a damn about Young. I am not going to wish him well, but then I am not going to be smug if he fails. He hasn’t done it for City under two different managers. As far as I am concerned it’s done. Au revoir!

I will wish Gillead all the best for the future. I think he offered a lot with his engine and dynamism. I will applaud him if he returns. From a distance, he comes across as a decent guy.

Shame about McDonald, but his health issues and age have meant we haven’t seen the best of him. Again wish him well for the future.

Young going to Stevenage is a good move for the lad as he now links up with Kemp again, so let's see if they can pick up where they left off at Swindon.
    Good luck to him.

I thought when Rupp said he would invest in the squad so we could compete at the top which is where we want to be. That has not happened. I expected him to put together financial packages for Oliver, Smith etc about midway through the window, we would all say nice things and wave them good bye, but he hasn’t and they are still here. Then to get to the end of the season and cash in on one of our better strikers is not investing.

I love your optimism and as fans we don’t wish doom and gloom on our club. There are always so many reasons this happens.

Think though after 6 seasons of the same conversations I’ll just pop on Groundhog Day and watch a bit of Bill Murray

Oh and apart from MK dons and Salford you meant yes?

Imagine our wing backs getting time and space on the ball one they went down to 10? It's almost as if their manager asked them to play that compact and narrow or something.

The 'added investment' was David Sharpe and paying off McDonald. All funded by the sale of Jake Young in the end though...

Well if we don’t go up, they most certainly won’t be getting my bum on the seat next season. I won’t be back until we have a complete positive change at the top. They are doing ok atm, and long may it continue.

I would have kept him and said so at the time, even though he was getting bullied when he played you could tell his technique was good. It was ridiculous (but completely par for the course) the slating he got when it should have been obvious the issue was that he was 7st piss wet through and just needed time to fill out

Spot on….This “love in” for Young by the usual suspects is bizarre really if we compare the contribution to the club given by Gilly. A weird sense of loyalty perspective.

We move on you are dead right Rod.

Yes apologies - it was probably a clumsy way of putting it. What I was really trying to say was that if he does nothing, then a lot of City fans will end up with egg on face. Only time will tell, but some of the reaction for a player who (quoting Simon Parker's article this morning) has started 4 league games for us and played 14 hours, not to mention the terrible performances that many have forgotten (Tranmere, Colchester et al), has been well over the top!

Am I missing something with Jake Young?

If two different managers, both with completely contrasting styles didn’t fancy him, then I’m inclined to believe something wasn’t right.

To call him one of our “better strikers” based on us only seeing him score for Swindon is baffling to me.

Good luck to the lad, but I’ll be glad to not hear about the ongoing saga anymore!

Listen at that time we simply needed the money and whats to actually say he would have gone on to do good things here should he have stayed ?????
I mean for a City this size how players have actually come through the system to go on to better things ????
Andy o brien and that was near on 22 years ago which shows how crap we are at doing things

I rated him but there was no way he was ever gonna fit into the way Hughes and GA play
