If that is true then it explains why the likes of Crawley and Stevenage have moved onto other targets. I would be very surprised if Fleetwood had £300k to bid with the mess they are in, I would expect their bid will have been less than that but had significant performance based add ons which made us accept it.
I can't see anyone bidding £300k for a player who is as risky as Young is with him ultimately having 1 good 4 month spell in his career so far.

 

Young has tremendous pace and a good finisher. If he is played as a striker as at Swindon and not as wing back at Barrow and a winger under Hughes he will get goals. No doubt of that and a better option than Kav to partner Cook

 

Good. I'd love love him to get a run up front with Cook. I think there's plenty of goals in that partnership.

If he's gone after being released it will definitely mean some sort of deal was reached before his transfer otherwise it would have just been announced as a straightforward transfer.

 

Nixon is saying that Young to Stevenage is happening

 

Local reporter says transfer news is "drying up" at Stevenage. That said, they're short of goals and do have money from selling Vancooten earlier in the window.

 

I think his agent is doing his best to contact guys like Nixon, Pete O'Rourke etc to fabricate moves.

 

To be fair, if it's insider chicken it needs taking with a massive pinch of salt. Usually just copy and pastes what they find online, like today trying to publish the Gilly move as a scoop, when it was already being talked about for about an hour previously.

I think £300k is a very good educated guess, reckon that was about the number in Jan too but nobody wants to pay it.

The Gilliead deal is not going down well at all with the Shrewsbury fans. Can see why, they've struggled to find good players, squad looks doomed, poor start to the season and they sign a squad player from the league below.

 

Only if he goes before midnight Kev. If not then I'm happy to take GA at his word that he's willing to work with Jake and get him back into the squad.

Even the Stevenage end thinks it’s the agent playing games leaving the player still in limbo? A tad unfair on him.

 

It'll be a compromise on the remaining money we owe him I'd imagine. Either way it's good to get another off the books that wouldn't have featured much, if at all.

 

If it turns out there was nothing more than a low ball Fleetwood offer a week ago when this is all said and done, he needs to sack his agent ASAP.
