Well they've moved on according to reports, which they always would do if the player isn't going to commit to them.

Now we've got a player on our books who Graham Alexander said:

“There’s a professional outlook where I see whether that player is engaged, motivated and can help Bradford City win.
“Those are the questions I ask about each individual. If I think the answer to one of those is no, obviously my opinion of that player will change.
“It’s down to the players whether they are all-in or half-in. We can’t afford half-in.”

So it would have been a lot better if we'd have been able to move on, too. Unfortunately we're stuck with quite an unprofessional player. And yeah, yeah, we can pretend that quote isn't directly attributable to anyone, but I'm not having it. We don't need to put our fingers in our ears, we know what the situation is.

Nothing good is going to come from Jake Young staying at Bradford City, he's played his hand, he'd be better off leaving. If the options are not perfectly suitable elsewhere OR here, forget him.

 

Fair philosophy from GA. Did he say that specifically about Young?

 

IMO Kavanagh, Sanderson and even Oliver are ahead of Young right now. Sense he’s got a lot to prove to GA if he’s getting ahead of them.

 

GA was only playing Oliver so that he could be put up in the shop window
Sanderson is ahead of young for the moment because Young isn't fully committed to us
As for Kav, he's probably the best of a bad bunch

God help us if Cook gets a long term injury, from the opening three games IMO Kavanngh is miles away from the player we saw during that good run at the end of last season, Oliver has been a terrible signing and will see the season out as a bench filler, we've seen Sanderson come off the bench but thats different to starting so hard to judge the lad. Although Young has seen little game time under Hughes or Alexander I'd say it's difficult for anyone to make a judgement on the kid.
I know if it was me and the next move could have a massive bearing in my career going forward I'd also be taking my time with regards which clubs have made offers and the back ground of those clubs, if it's true that Stevenage are in for him he knows what Kemp can do given the right formation and of course manager

No quote from Alexander about McDonald leaving? A few weeks ago, he was also very dismissive when asked if he saw McDonald becoming a coach at the club. Seems like they probably didn't get a long and feel a bit for McDonald as he did well as a manager but he was rubbish as a player, so not much of a loss at all. Actually, it's a great saving on wages depending on what we've paid him up!

Yeah add that to the other out going players from last season the club and based on the additions and contracts offered to existing players they must be making savings this season so far. - sustainable?

 

I always though he had something as a player but he couldn't seem to let go of his other "activities".

What’s happened to Oliver? Is he injured - still concussed? We’re not gonna shift him on I don’t think. Young must be looking at our current forward line up and surely he must fancy his chances? Kav, Oliver and the loaner haven’t impressed so far. IMO, it’s his spot if he wants it and puts the effort in.
