Agree if he stays here even if it is only till Christmas then he needs to fight like hell to get in the team and stay there. Then he will either be happy to stay and contribute or get a good move. Anything other than that will be very harmful for his career

Im not sure where I claimed what you said was unfair, or that it's a 'nice and fun' world, quite odd...

My point was that what you said was nonsense, none of us know the offers on his table. He will decide what he deems is best for himself today, and act accordingly. If that succeeds or not only time will tell, but no one has a crystal ball.

When looking for work do you simply take the first job offered to you regardless of what or where it is? Or, do you take some time, weigh up the options and decide what works best for you?

He had two choices as far as i see it.

Commit himself absolutely fully to his current employer, which he should have done since returning last January, but it's naive to think he's actually done that considering how it's all panned out and what Graham has been saying.

Alternatively, move somewhere new and start again.

So far the lad appears to be in limbo, which is the worst of all worlds. I could tell you all a boring story about an MMA fighter from Wigan (who I have nothing to do with btw, this is just a recent story) and he was an undefeated, ranked UFC fighter talking about title shots and whose contract was coming up for renewal. He wanted to test free agency and negotiate with other promotions (despite the rest being smaller), and in the end the UFC told him to piss off and that they wouldn't resign him. A bunch of other promotions pulled out too and now he's in the equivalent of non league.

If you've got a deal, ALWAYS be professional. If you're considering your options, do it silently and don't let it affect your work. Do not let management know. If they get a whiff, you've failed.

That's how it is. He's ballsed it up here, he should go anywhere that wants him, start again, and work back towards his goals.

    In m yopinion.

He has work, which is my main point, and is doing himself no favours.

Yes Manchester United asked for him to join their camp in the 2013 Milk Cup Competition I believe in Ireland, the lad was leading scorer in the competition and won a trophy for his exploits.

You have zero idea if he is doing himself any favours or not, by the end of the day he might have the move he wanted, or he might not. Seen as we have no idea what his options even are, or the conversations he has had with GA I think it's foolish to suggest he should take the first thing on the table. We will find out soon enough eh?

That’s one spot filled. Now a keeper and shift out the deadwood.

Of course we will and of course i could be wrong!

No issues. I'll be happy if I'm wrong as it means Jake has got a positive outcome. Brilliant. There's more than one way to skin a cat.

    I'm only explaining my position.

It's been far too long to think Jake has had any offers on the table this whole time. I think we can safely say he hasn't, or he would have gone, hence what I'm saying about imaginary deals.

But he still might get one. Maybe. That's not a position I'd want to be in, though! It's ballsy.

From Simon Parker's T&A blog "Nothing concrete with Jake Young but news on the grapevine suggests some League One interest may have resurfaced"

Or staying at a club that he’s struggling to even make the bench?

    A conundrum .

Would be a good move for Gilliead & Shrewsbury if it's true, gives him a season in league 1 then if they get relegated like it is looking they will then they've got a player who will do well in league 2.
I'd expect Mcdonald will be announced as a mutual termination of his contract later today. It's the best option all round and it looks like it would save him the indignity of likely being left out of the registered squad. I noticed this morning when looking at the team profiles on the website that we've not even bothered to get a picture of him in this season's kit so that shows how low his chances of playing are.

Could be that he does finally mentally focus. Because that's obviously his weakness.

Not under pressure as a sub for Forest Green, he scores a very good goal against us. Note, he could never hold down a first team place for them and Rob Edwards got rid of him at the end of the season.

Comes to us and for whatever reason fails. Was it Hughes? Was it the pressure of having to perform?

Goes to Barrow, doesn't work out.

Goes to Swindon under no pressure at all, because all their fans thought they'd be bottom at Christmas - as (we saw as the season went on) they had no money. Scores a hatful - note only up to mid-September. Significantly and unusually Flynn decides to be as flamboyant as Ossie Ardiles memorable Spurs team of the mid-90's, lots of chance created - again only for the first few weeks.

His second 'spell' after injury at Swindon, yielded a goals per minute rate that Kavanagh matched (for us) last season.

Now he's fit. It's proven he can score. But can he score, when the condition aren't perfect for him - that's what the likes of Cook, Vardy (pity we couldn't get him in the summer of 2014!!) etc do and why they are still gold dust at their age.

There will be an opportunity at some time for him before Christmas. Go show us what you can do.

Agree. Happy to hear “no nonsense” defender. Decent level of experience.
Looking forward to seeing him play.

He's struggling to make the bench because of the uncertainty around him. If he's still here he'll get back in the squad

Sounds like Fleetwood have moved on from Young.... weirdly, they are bringing in Kian Harratt instead

Still think he'd have done well for us in different circumstances. I'll be keeping an eye on how he does for Fleetwood. Had a bit of fight and grit about him similar to Kavanagh that you need as young lad playing lower league football, especially with City. Would've absolutely loved scoring in front of the Kop
