He did show potential, Swansea saw it, and I'm sure PP saw it, but the issue was that we didn't have the resources or the time to develop him fully so he was never going to achieve that with us. I suspect if you asked PP for his truthful opinion he would show some regret that he wasn't in a position to make him the bully he is now.

 

Didn't Oli McBurnie also have a trial/had some game time at Manchester United when he was around 17/18? I think he was well regarded as a junior footballer hence the Swansea transfer being more than a punt.

 

He scored 4 in 12..not bad for someoen played on the wing....he was still one of our top scorers in January!!!

Birmingham bidding £10m for Stansfield from Fulham. Crazy to think we could have been in that division. The gulf in spending is unreal, even one level up for the top clubs. If this deal happens, they will have spent well over £20m in this window.... IN LEAGUE ONE!!

 

I think every assumed the player we were after played in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night because of Alexander's comments about him playing Tuesday night but Alexander never specified the competition he played in and Diabate played on Tuesday night for Exeter U21s in the Premier League Cup so that adds up.
He's another player who's won promotion playing 18 times when Exeter got promoted in 21/22.

I'm basing my opinion on what the gaffer has said, and I don't care if you find it unfair. I've worked with athletes before and the market is brutal towards people who dither and waste time because they've prioritised something that doesn't exist over something that does.

It's a mean, mean world, not nice and fun.

Obviously I hope it works out for Jake, but he is the one jeopardising his future in my eyes. I don't know all the ins and outs, but there will be many who see things as I do right now, as well as many who don't.

I get all that Jon, but I don't see how he would help his career by moving to a club he doesn't want to be at, if thats the case.
