Going that far back, yeah we made better ones. I just followed the request for the last 4 seasons worth. We've signed some utter guff in our recent times.

 

So judging by that, GA has the best record in recent years in the Jan transfer window, after pulling three mussels from a shell this year ?

 

There's still some good names out there in the PFA camp, not many central defenders though outside of Michael Hector and Charles Dunne. Hector is 32 now and played for Charlton last season. Dunne is 31 and has been playing for various SPL clubs over the last few years.

 

Or if we get another Lewis O'Brien I'm done with this lot

 

I saw that Charlie Austin has announced he has ADHD after getting his diagnosis earlier in the year. But the bigger part from his announcement, was that ADHD medication is a banned substance currently. So to carry on playing footy, he can't play professionally. Im assuming that explains randomly signing for AFC Totton after a decent season for Swindon, decent enough to where if he'd sign for another L2 team, it wouldn't be that surprising.

Carlisle have signed Jordan Jones today on a 3 year deal. Can't see any interest from them in Gilly now (if there ever was).

The main challenge is you're not inquisitive. Instead, you're more argumentative.

Instead of perhaps saying "when you say he's started well, what do you mean by that"?, what you do/did is to copy and paste a series of data with no context e.g. did Stevenage win any of those games? What level of opposition were they playing against etc etc.

Your interest was in trying to prove my comment wrong instead of trying to understand it.

Ultimately, I said the one liner I did because he's not our player, he plays in the league above us, why do we need to debate a player that we won't even see this season and that has never been our player? Your point of view was just unnecessarily argumentative for a thread on City Talk.

Jones is a left winger isn't he? He terminated his deal at Wigan and everyone thought he was signing for Exeter last week. Apparently Carlisle beat the Exeter offer over the weekend.

 

Well.... 4 more days to go. Still a CB needed, still a fair few could leave?

 

Don't know a great deal about him tbh, just saw the tweet from Carlisle, who describe him as a midfielder.

 

Couldn't remember if he was the same Jones I remember, but yeah he's a winger. Been riddled with injury for the last few years. Saw Carlisle also had Jamal Blackman on trial too, wonder if they are looking to move on from Lewis already?

 

I was innocently inquisitive , so out of curiosity , as I was interested, I checked and the data far from backs up what your “ mate” claims. Then you have a go at me for challenging the observation because the data doesn’t back it up stack up or add up.

One minute data is king next minute it’s irrelevant just because it doesn’t match observations….
I have said before and I’ll say it again, data can be made to suit a narrative. This time it was the opposite , it didn’t match your mates comment and repetition of the same, that he’s done well!
So I asked why, it was so far and away different from the data .

I’ll keep asking and challenging just as I expect others to do with my observations and opinions.

It is nice for advocates of “data is god” to see it’s not exactly the god it’s made out to be.
