He's one of their danger men from set pieces but he's not marked when the free kick is taken and gets a free run into the area with pretty much a free header. GA will 100% be pointing that out and expecting the original set up for the free kick to be much better.

Yep, that looked daft too given he was running away from goal with absolutely no danger.

He was pizzed off with the fact we gave away a freekick in that and other similar locations . GA mentioned stupid giveaways in the post match interview. I’m sure he was alluding to that.

I haven't seen the interview Kev. The point I was making is that they'll definitely discuss it at some point next week. It's always healthy to have a look at situations where you can do better as a unit or individually and when it's pointed out, whether it is an individual or group error, players have to be man enough to accept it. That's all part of pushing each other to be better and being tighter as a group.

Yes he also said they were having a go at each other in the dressing room , re who was at fault!
If a team can do that…it bodes well for the future imho.

It was an extremely well executed goal - great cross, good run and and perfect glancing header into the top corner, giving Walker no chance whatsoever. Kudos to them for the execution.

But I disagree that there’s nothing you can do to stop such goals. Webster is a premium quality CB at this level and an obvious goal threat from set pieces. In the pre-match planning he clearly should have had a specific tall defender assigned to mark him on corners and free kicks. If a defender tracks his run, stays goal side and jumps with him then that glancing header hits the defender instead of flying into the net.

I don’t think anyone has suggested those type of kicks can’t be stopped.

Sorry Mr Petrov I disagree, I’ve known supporters who have actively disliked a player from day 1 and they loved it when such player messed up so they could declare they were right about him. I even had a work colleague who hated Terry Dolan as manager even in the great 87/88 nearly season. He took great delight when we failed to go up declaring he always knew Dolan would *@?$ it up. With this season’s recruitment you and your fellow critics have dismissed the signings without a trial, especially the two defenders.I think they could play like Rio Ferdinand and John Terry but the recruitment critics will still say nothing until they mess up. I don’t know if we’re good enough to go up or not, however the defenders in question don’t look too bad so far, but it’s strange that players they have never seen play are condemned.

That is fantastic form, and although unlikely lets hope we can try to replicate it over the next 10 games as currently only 3 of those games are relevant. So far the new signings are holding up well, but there is a long way to go for this team to prove it is good enough for promotion. Promotion is the only aim, everything else is irrelevant.

Only as good as your last results monkey and we’re on a great run though I suspect it’s upsetting you as you seem to prefer to protest.

Of course promotion is the only aim, but those results at the end of last season shouldn’t be dismissed. We ended two clubs play off hopes with two great away wins and certainly a tonic after the Harrogate disaster.

Of course they should be dismissed. It's now a new season and as far as I'm aware we get zero points for any wins we had last year.
    .
Imagine the highlight of your season being that you ended the play of hopes of a couple of other clubs in the bottom division! With that mentality, how on earth can we go wrong!

Did we need 1 or 2 points for the playoffs? The Harrogate disaster was exactly why those results are irrelevant.

Finishing anything lower than 3rd this season will be a disaster.
