Sorry Boncs we'll have to agree to disagree. Halliday had loads of the ball with time and space. Baldwin moved the ball to him really quickly but there was chuff all else happening down that side to give Halliday options.

 

Specifically Lewis and Wyke.
I agree, send Carlisle packing and everything that comes with it but the way you said it, it was like you wanted our ex players to get it.

OK well rather than saying Byrne was “fantastic”, I’ll rephrase it and say he did his job solidly and very effectively when needed and didn’t put a foot wrong.

 

Wait until the first poor game either of them have,which will happen as all defenders have them and he’ll be back on claiming how right he was. Once a fan has it in for a particular player they never let go.

They had more tall players on the pitch than we had tall players to mark them. But yes, you’d think that Webster would have been identified as an obvious danger at corners and one of the CBs assigned to mark him.

 

This idea that anyone who dares to have the opinion that our recruitment doesn't look good enough to see us mount a serious promotion challenge wants nothing more than to be proved right is ridiculous. It's actually the complete opposite, and I'd wager that like me, Monkey, Sergio, and others that have dared to question the quality of players brought in would enjoy nothing better than to be proved wrong come the end of the season.

 

Agree Offy, but let’s not do them an injustice with the fact it was a well executed set piece, however they will be even more disappointed that Baldwin had a free run at our header that led to the pen. It was an excellent cross, well timed run and really well headed.

I’m not losing sleep over it tbh as the best sides in the world concede at this type of set piece.

 

Sometimes you just have to hold your hand up and say fair play, it was a set piece right on the button. Not a lot you can do with those.

 

Sometimes in life you just have to applaud an excellent delivery, run and header as opposed to trying to find blame.

 

I think Alexander alluded to the fact that the players were holding an inquest into the goal conceded which might indicate someone didn’t do their job, or how they will approach it next time.

 

Glad they’re annoyed - we’d have been top of the table - alphabetically - would have been nice to see

Yep. Imagine wanting your club to do better. It's probably a trend that'll never catch on around these parts though, we're too happy lapping up the mediocrity that Sparks won't accept.
