He had nothing to do for 70 minutes. Bromley went full Mourinho bus tactics in that first half. It wasn’t that we were playing amazingly, it was that they had 10 men and just defended. Our passing and decision making at times was abysmal

Must admit I thought Byrne & Baldwin were both meh signings, but so far they both look pretty solid. Not sure anyone would have been able to pick up Webster for their goal.

I didn't go, I was in York at the Ebor which is why I haven't posted on the game.

Our defence won't have an easier game all season. Hard to press with 10 men.

I'd love to be proven wrong, I'm just very sceptical that it will happen. Byrne in particular looks very shaky so far (I can't comment on yesterday).

Well hopefully you are wrong too, we shall see.I suppose.

We do need to bring in another centre half though to add competition, which is what GA has alluded to, now that Stubbs has gone

I've just had a watch of the goals and I can't understand why Walker and Sarcevic seem to be the ones picking up Webster? From set pieces he was clearly going to be the danger man so surely one of the centre halves or even Cook should have been the ones marking him?

Somehow I have a feeling Walker might be the next one out of the door. After that needless free kick he gave away for their goal yesterday, GA will not be a happy bunny with him

Where did I say in my post that they didn’t???

I said I hope we score plenty and send them packing with nothing. Do you want the opposite or something, just to keep with sentiment? Don’t know about you but I want to WIN especially against Carlisle. No time for sentiment

100% this. I don't want any city fans to give abuse to either Lewis or Wyke, I want us to play so well that they end up getting it off their own fans.

Can’t disagree with your comments but I, clearly I look at it differently.

I think both will get a good reception.

    Exactly

They were 2 players that spent a short time with us, the only meaningful contribution in that time is that we made a decent bit of money on them. I don’t wish them any abuse, but they certainly won’t be getting applause from where I sit. Imagine the lift it gives a player when the opposition fans are applauding them. The mind boggles as to why we’d do that

Sorry cant agree Halliday got plenty of ball, although Wright had a great game it was so noticeable we were mainly attacking down Wrights wing the majority of the time, as I say Wright had a good game and was IMO MOTM but the space Halliday had at times could have been utilised better, but I'll take a 3 - 1 win any time.

Absolutely. Wright and Pattison look to be forming a good, speedy understanding on the left. By contrast, Sarcevic seems to wander around at a snail’s pace, which is not providing Halliday with enough overlapping opportunities. Unlike Wright, Brad is not going to skin any fullbacks for pace.

I’d much rather we applaud ex players before the game than get into the embarrassing nonsense of ‘City reject’ chants. It always makes me cringe when that happens. The number of times that comes back to bite us on the bum is too many to count.

Cook had already been subbed off by that point so that was no longer an option. But it was madness to leave Webster without a tall player marking him. Sanderson would have been a better choice; not a giant but at least might have had a chance of blocking his jump and clean header.
Well executed goal, to be fair.

Definitely, give them a little appreciation clap during the warm up, if that’s your thing. But all the chants during the game just revs the player up and, as you say, bites us

It's true that in the past we have struggled when teams have a man sent off at Valley Parade but their manager did help us yesterday by making that substitution before half time. He said in his interview that he decided to go with two upfront because the ball wasn't "sticking" and just coming straight back, a brave thing to do when you have a man sent off away from home.

True Steve but sometimes abuse can bite you in the jacksie by spuring them on to perform against us, Billy Sharp being an example. Like you say don't applaud or abuse.
