Pointon got a lovely goal but today unlike last week I think we suffered when him and Oduor came on

Probably nothing more than managing his minutes to ensure we don't get a repeat of what happened with him last year.

 

Smallwood was pretty much as good as one can get today . The booing , agree, was bloody pathetic .

 

Played well in patches, although thought we might have continued the theme from the first half into the second, but he didn't have the guile once Bromley retreated and stopped being so open.

Other than the goal from pointon I don't think the subs did much to help the non performance of the second half. Sanderson doesn't look to understand the role he has been given, and pointon looks a little unfit and trying to harder, neither of which is surprising.

One of smallwoods better games although I still feel he was lucky to be on the pitch after the bloody stupid shove to the face, unnecessary and could have cost us for a few weeks.

Forgot about sarcevic for half hour, and kept thinking it was pattison who was everywhere instead. A few nice flicks and that from sarcevic and always seems to be up with play without affecting it.

A steady start but sterner tests to come

Defence looked ok but will have harder tests, Kelly struggled with the feet but don't think he is the answer to the left but I would like to seem him form some part of the defence as he heads everything and blocks most stuff.

 

They went long at times but I'd say the majority of the time they were looking to play it out from the back, once they broke the player with the ball didn't have to stand there wondering where his next pass was going there was plenty of movement off the ball, which you would expect from a team that has just won promotion and had two very good opening results to the season, until they had a man sent off IMO they were very much in the game even though it was only in the 8th minute.

 

Hope we don’t get rid of Walker need to find a place for him

 

Really ? They were poor with 11 on the grass it’s always harder to play 10.

Sorry mate I'll have to disagree with that comment "subs were brought on too early" Bromley had been down to 10 men for 50 minutes a lot of the time chasing the ball IMO that was exactly what was needed, fresh legs to up the tempo and make them chase even more, once Bobby scored we knew it was game over, even at 2 - 0 they pull a goal back and its game on.

 

I'll take suffering if it means we score.

Must be the first time ever I agree Pointon scored a great goal but he couldn’t get in the game in general play

 

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned.
The Ref has said he waited for a few moments after their handball because he thought we might score from the rebound.
So does anyone know what would have happened if we had scored in those few moments after? Would their man have still got a red card?

 

No I post the truth I said he scored a great goal but the rest of his game wasn’t good. The lad is a great prospect but like all players is not above criticism

I thought Alexander bringing the subs on in the 60th minute was the right call today, as I posted last seek were those 10 minutes against Salford so critical that the subs couldn't be made 10 minutes earlier, we were on top but needed a little more impetus going forward as well as holding the ball more, when I looked at the bench I thought Alexander was bringing all three on again as he did last week, Wright must have been knackered as the vast majority of our attacking down the flanks were from his side, at times you had to feel for Halliday the lack of balls he got to go forward.
