Another week, another very good showing from the defence.
Baldwin again the pick of the bunch.
One v one he's very good and has the eye for quality direct balls.

 

He's trying too much as in passing to his team mates.
Once he gets some selfishness into his game he will improve massively

 

I just watched the highlights and screenshot this. Well that’s pretty conclusive lol. The commentary even said it could be Byron Webster who did it, despite the replays wrong colour hand for a start pal!

 

I was hoping he'd settle down a bit when he gets used to playing with others around him. I reckon he could be a really good partner to Halliday. The left side is looking less solid. I still have hope that Kelly will improve his passing but his place and Byrne's are more up for grabs than Baldwin's in my view.

New Central Defender in next week

 

He's the middle centre back. He sets out the positions of the other two centre backs and needs to communicate who is picking up who. Against MK he was shakey, could have been at fault for the goal at Grimsby, today he should have been taking command of the defence and closing out the game but they scored and needed Walker to make a great save. So far, in my view, he isn't the commanding, vocal central defender we need in the middle of the defensive three but let's see. At the moment he isn't an upgrade on Platt.

Put it a different way, I can see why he was backup at Stockport. He's OK, decent, all those kinds of words but he doesn't show up as the commanding starting central defender that they or we needed.

Yet GA said in his post match interview that we don’t play with a 10. So what is that deep lying forward role that Kav and Sanderson played today, if not a 10?

That seemed to hurt BB ? He took the pen knowing he missed the last and the crowd OUR crowd were on his back when he grabbed the ball . A snowflake wouldn’t have done that ?. It summed up his 90 mins for me .

 

Quite possible they don't understand the role they have been given, Sanderson was a like for like sub and he was exactly the same. He looked like he didn't know what he was doing either.

Doesn't look upto that much so far, perhaps he needs to be given a different role

Offering a reason Alexander may have replaced him, if he was that influential you have to question why did Alexander bring him off after 60 minutes.
All down to the guys on the side-lines with their analysis, if he'd done enough in those 60 minutes they may have felt keeping him on may not be the best for him.

Yet if we had have lost all 3 games, you would be banging on that we were doomed and certs for relegation
