Smallwood, great game.

 

Pointon needs to start but we all know he won’t

Dunno what the lad needs to do for a place in starting line up, while these other midfielders get in week in week out regardless of how they play

Tbf Smallwood had a decent game today

 

He can definitely play a bit and more often than not tries to play the ball in to feet. A couple have gone astray but that's probably because we aren't used to it from our defenders. I think Baldwin and Halliday worked really well together today. Moved the ball quickly out of defence. Only problem was we were a bit static in front of Halliday. Kelly and Wright didn't play anywhere near as fluently, but Pattison was providing the additional movement down their side.

 

I heard it the main stand. Booing our own player. How to get a player to be better boo him just before he takes a penalty. Brains none!

 

Why change it? We're doing fine as we are.
Great game today, thought smallwood and Wright were very good, brilliant atmosphere, can't wait fir next week hopefully start the same team as they all deserve to keep their place.

Definitely took the foot of the gas at 2-0 but the subs injected a much needed lift resulting in a good goal from Pointon.

 

I never thought I would say this but in My view Smallwood was my man of the match he was all over them. 1St time since he got here.

 

Winning a couple of games doesn’t mean we can’t improve. I’d be dropping Kavanagh for the next game who has been poor this season.

Why change it?
Today was a good win but from playing a team with 10 men all game gives a different picture
Some same culprits coasting while a player comes on and does more in 30 mins than they’ve done in 3 games

 

Hard to fathom how good we are right now against 10 men. I feel with 11 the game would have been settled by the odd goal.

GA said we are still looking to strengthen and bring in players with the right winning mentality.

But we are creating chances and I liked how we worked the ball across the field looking for runners.

 

It's a squad game. All 25 (or so) will play a part over the next few months. We need a couple more in and out I feel to improve the squad. Why are McDonald and Oliver still here?

 

I thought the subs made things worse.

Walker giving away a pointless free kick which resulted in them scoring from. Crap like that needs to stop.

Wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't Carlisle United no inside info just a gut feeling I think they are struggling and have owners who are seen to back their manager.

 

We dropped off second half annoyingly, but hey, joint top of the league, and 23 shots attempted in the match.
As GA stated after the Grimsby match, we've not had stats like that for 2 seasons.
We could and should have been 4 up at half time.

 

And fair play to Alexander who made those early changes not waiting till the 70th minute.

 

Yes many of us slag him off, probably far too much, me included, but today he was very good, credit where it's due
