Have to agree. His first half season stint was good. Had he played a full season and kept to the level he would have been a contender for player of the season. Granted last season didn’t work, but I can’t help but think we are losing a player that is no worse, if not potentially better than what we currently have.

 

No its based on us failing 6 years in a row, promised investment and a real go at promotion and us signing the same kind of players we always do.

Well if he is injured GA hasn’t mentioned it is TA interview, which he normally does. I think it is fair to say he is not coping well with the distraction as mentioned before by GA. There has been another club interested in him in the last couple of days.

One way or another the Jake Young will he won't he saga will reach it's conclusion. Friday can't come soon enough.

 

He mentioned it last week I think, but I listened to his whole interview yesterday, and read this morning TA, no mention of niggle, plenty of talk about distraction.

I am becoming irritated by GA, on a number of issues not least conflicting information.

 

You seen prepared to want to give Baldwin, Byrne, Johnson, Adams etc all time to blend and gel into a formation but not young?

Let's think about that sentence, players play better with different managers and different formations.

We have a potential 55 goal a season strike partnership in cook and young and a potential wonder kid on the bench.

Why aren't we building a side that contains all three which would be a genuine threat to this division instead of playing on with a set up that alienates two of the three and stifles the other?

 

Or continually making excuses for him….. ? We just don’t know, but I used to “cover” my staff members but you have to draw the line somewhere otherwise you start to look stupid oneself! I think you might be right that GA has reached that point?

 

We may not agree with his selections but he seems pretty clear in his interviews to be honest, the only issues he seems to conflict with are the issues that stem from rumours that are started by people who think they are in the know.

 

Keef is about right , as your unsubstantiated comment that Young would get 25 goals and Cook 30 . There's “ potential” and downright “speculative” to the extreme .

 

This whole summer has been pretty much a clusterfuck by GA on his soundbites......the budget running out, Jake Young, bags of bitterness etc.

He has done a decent job so far in the main, but he contradicts himself, back tracks alot and makes himself look stupid. His team selections at time is baffling but thats nothing new, his squad looks unbalanced and seems he is ignoring positions that need quality, and adding quantity to already stocked positions and the Salford performance made him look like a fool after his bags of bitterness comments.

 

Re-read his comment fella, he said 'potentially', not 'would'. You are putting words into his mouth to suit your agenda.

The facts are we have 2 goalscorers in the squad - Cook and Young, the only ones who have ever shown anything in their career. Yeh Young only done it once, last season, but he did it and nobody else in the squad has ever come close to 16 goals in half a season. So yeh, we potentailly have a great strikeforce there with goals.
