2024 Released Players & City transfer rumours

Jetta, Crowley and Jones must be amongst the best players in L2 and I would love us to have them, but the luck Notts County had with their four goals was off the scale. First was a nice goal but was marginally offside. The second was a double handball by Crowley
The third was a cross by Jones which flunked into the top corner. The fourth looked like a shot going wide which deflected wickedly over the keeper.

Whilst good teams are always ‘luckier’ than others by good play and pressure, County won’t have that much luck in any one game this season.

I’ll bet their fans hope they are lucky enough to hold on to those three players in this transfer window.

 

Sounds like MK are going to try again for Crowley, but seems a bit of a sideways move to me? I remember we were linked with Jones whilst he was at Cov and coming back from injury. He did ACLs in both legs a few years ago from memory? But has been a revelation at Notts. I think Jones will stay put for this season. Jetta looks a right find up front, given they already sold Langstaff for big money this summer, they can keep hold of a lot this time round but I cant see all 3 playing L2 football again next season.

Confirmation, City complete season-long loan signing of Joe Adams from Wigan. Been on their radar throughout the summer.

The 20-year-old spent second-half of last season at Morecambe.

It’s blatantly obvious he hasn’t played any L1 games and isn’t even making the bench as of last weekend. So we don’t need to read what is clear for all to witness by his absence……

So this is the lad we were first linked with months and months ago. I'll try take encouragement from the fact that our signings have all seemingly been planned well in advance, unlike previous years where we've pretty blatantly panic bought whatever was still left at the end of the window. Not match fit
Still recovering from an operation?
Remains unselected as a result of the above
Argues resulting in abuse with his manager in front of the squad
Allegations and witness accounts of him being a lazy trainer, substantiated by his current manager.

There's no point fawning over good footballers who are doing well in possession based sides.

Long ball may be a dying art, but I fear our fans still aren't ready to move on.

Young should be busting a gut to get in the team if he wants a good move. There is interest there if he had burst into the new season in the team doing well both him and the club would have benefited

 

It doesn't clarify anything. The link was in the wrong thread, and the comment attached to the link was pure guesswork spun as fact, I won't waste any more forum space debating it.

There are multiple threads in the forum, it’s all over the place because topics do cross. Finally let’s put it to bed. He’s created a rod for his own back as the old saying goes. @Park bantam last comment has it spot on. If he wanted a move he’d be busting a gut to get into this side by training well, yet GA intimates he isn't, thus not warranting a place. If that’s the case he can stew if the move to anyone doesn’t come off.

 

I think Walker is pissed off after we took up the year option and he was looking at going elsewhere so I can see him moving on before the window closes and we will get a fee .

 

Are we due anything? He left us last summer I believe?

 

He's got no right to be pissed off, disappointing if we do lose him but at least its not on a free

 

Ok just seen Alvin Ayman will net us a 'significant windfall' after his £2m move to Liverpool from Wolves. You would think the standard 20-25% was added.

I agree that we need to shift Young on, the sooner the better. As far as I'm aware there has been nothing concrete from the club to say Young doesn't train well or that he has an attitude problem, just some Twitter rumours about a spat with Hughes and the fact that he's not in the side, which in my opinion is because he's not that good.

 

What happens over the coming week before the window shuts will be very interesting to say the least.
Adam's will undoubtedly take someone's place in the pecking order.
Surely someone is going out of the midfield numbers there's not a cat in hells chance everyone will be happy with this latest addition to the squad.
Having said that the further proposed signing next week worries my more.I have know idea what position Alexander deems we are short of based on this latest signing.

Probably another striker and we will have Cook, Young, Kavanagh, Sanderson, Smith, Oliver and 1 more.

PS - It most certainly will be Walker. All is not well there IMO. But hopefully it is another Centre Back.
