Be careful, facts are irrelevant to some, it fails to support their agenda.

He might be and to be honest, that wouldn't surprise me either. I'd probably be desperate for a way out too.

I’m not a sulker so wouldn’t know that being sidelined by an old manager makes me lazy in training for the new manager and team mates.

That seems to be the marker that others have pointed out, including subtlety by GA himself.

If he wasn’t referring to Young then I’m happy to apologise.

It’s clear to me why he’s afraid to ask for a transfer……££££££££££££££’s perhaps ?

It might depend what the target was. I'm still trying to work it out!

It is in the Championship. Clubs still wouldn't want to pay £125,000 plus the floodlight upgrade costs in league 2. If the EFL had £125,000 per club to give out they would be better off using it to pay for a salary and training costs of making the officials full time which would have far more benefit than goal line technology which is barely used over a season.

There were plenty aimed at Cook as well. Nearly all came straight back at us.

At the Euros didn't they have a sensor in the ball that linked to the ref's watch or was I imagining that? Surely that would be a cheaper technology than myriads of HD cameras?

There are two forms of GLT; one involving a camera array as @Birky Bantam@Birky Bantam described and the second involves a set of sensors picking up a signal from a transmitter inside the ball. The FA/PL prefer the camera based system whilst some other competitions use the sensor based system. I guess that UEFA and/or the Bundesliga preferred the sensor system for the Euros. Both are bloody expensive systems for lower league clubs.

Especially as it probably happens just once a season at the very most.

Lets hope we've got ours out the way already in the 2nd game. Now we've only got incompetent Refs, Linesmen that can't keep up with play, blatant timewasting going unpunished, blatant pens not given and whistle happy refs intent on quieting the big home crowd down to worry about! I've missed it

That's our fault for underperforming and being everyone else's big day out. I'm certainly not going to blame Salford (or anyone else for that matter) for bending the rules to give them the best possible chance to claim something from the game.

Poor officiating is just a symptom of our own poor performance and in turn being appointed the refs from further down the pecking order.

Yes totally agree it's our own doing and up to us to change that narrative with other teams Wembley day out. One excuse I've never liked is the opposition turn it on because it's a big crowd, play their best game of the season. Why the hell do our players never do that then? The likes of Salford need to be put to the sword before they can start with any dark arts

I’ll say it differently , predominantly they were to wide players and as David says ,predominantly ..off target.

Agreed. Kelly was the worst , Baldwin and Byrne were marginally better.

I’m not sure why we have two of our last seasons better defenders “ off it” . Halliday is nowhere near fit after missing most of pre season ( According to GA) and Kelly needs dropping for the loanee Shepherd imho.

We can complain about time wasting etc all we want but if we stop playing poorly in the first half of home games like we did on Saturday and most of last season then teams won't time waste as they will be losing. It's down to us to change it, teams are always looking at ways around the laws and guidelines like Salford did at the weekend with the keeper going down and there's nothing the referee can do about it.

The Euros still used a system that required 7 cameras per goal. The chip in the ball is something that Adidas developed with FIFA so they own the rights to use it so even if just the ball could be used it wouldn't be possible in the EFL as Puma have the ball rights and i highly doubt Adidas will sell a licence to anyone else.

We're not bedding in, though, our squad is largely the same as last year... that's why you'd expect to be beating the sides still gelling.
