Aren't the camera's in the goal posts ? It's the only way for them to work.

Thanks for the clarification re Platt, and I'm happy to admit I was wrong (though not happy to let him go obviously, but from what I've seen of Byrne he's as good as Platt).

The EFL should have the stills of that mistake made into wallpaper and plastered all over this idiots bedroom wall.

I would not be shocked if Walker was sold before the deadline.

There are 14 cameras (7 for each goal) around the stadium, the position is different stadium to stadium but they are all high up so that they can track the ball. They put them higher up to reduce the risk of all camera being blocked by players.

I think some of the misunderstanding comes from our game at Barrow 2 seasons ago when Young scored and the Radio Leeds commentator mentioned goal line technology. I'm sure all clubs would love it but the cost to have it installed is around £250,000 per stadium plus floodlights will likely have to be upgraded or the technology won't work properly which is an issue they had at first when introduced to the Championship. Also on a practical level I don't think a lot of league 2 grounds have suitable stands for the cameras to be installed.

Put it that way, it's not happening anytime soon. If it does it has to be all grounds or it's not a level playing field.

Thanks Birky. I always thought it was more simple than that, I didn't know floodlights and stands came into it to be honest. Like Monkey says no one will be offering to pay for that. I remember Boxing day VS Sunderland, they had it installed but turned off as others in league 1 didn't have it, just our luck Johnno scrambled it back after it went over the line and it wasn't given!

I didn't say at VP specifically. Turn of phrase anyhow. We are in a better position squad wise this season. That should benefit us significantly. Tbh I really don't care whether we get the requisite points home or away, as long as we get them.

I think we're in a very similar squad position to last year. We've strengthened the attacking midfield but that's the only area we've strengthened and still have gaping holes in at least 3 other places.

We've just extended his contract, and he won't bring in a fee.

Maybe we triggered his contract extension to get a fee this month. There is clearly something not quite right and I have a feeling Jamie wanted to leave in the summer.

He certainly gave that impression in that interview he did after we triggered his additional year.

    I'm not sure.

Maybe he just didn't want to accept a pay cut and was happy to leave unless we matched his pay - which we did?

If we didn't want to pay his wages - which obviously we didn't initially - then we'd be pretty silly to extend his deal to try and get a minute fee.

I don't buy that, it just doesn't make sense. There isn't a lot of money flying around at this level and he's old.

He refused the new deal and was talking to Carlisle - so we triggered our option.

Id say a small fee could be had if someone really wanted him. Not saying im in favour, rather keep for the year and lose for free.

We paid a fee for Byrne....

Surely the EFL have a duty of care to install it? They could at least pay half. It should 100% be in the Championship anyway. They can all afford it and half the league will have from their PL stays.

We complain when opposition players do it and then the constant comment is …” We need a player like that” .. Just saying.
