Well as the manager says he only picks players who show up in training when asked about Young it doesn’t take much to deduct does it

 

They could have sold him to Carlisle

 

"Could" He would have failed the medical and even moneybags Carlisle would not have signed him to lay on the treatment table.

 

He did play a couple of games so must have been declared fit

We don’t need time for a new addition - Young’s replacement is already in the building (Ollie Sanderson - who incidentally I thought looked promising in his brief cameo).

 

Because GA wanted to see Young with his own eyes first. He’s had a close season with him and still can’t get into the team. I think that tells a story.

I thought he looked a bit lost and unsure where to play. I'm not sure if that's his natural role but he looked pretty ineffective from an attacking sense although we did keep just launching the ball 60 yards over his head.

 

He did not see him for a full season as he had to do some rehabilitation at Fa St George. The only story it tells is that the club have wanted to cash in on him since his return to the club and GA's hands have been tied.

I agree. All this “so called attitude” and doesn’t train well is the clubs way of getting the fans onside. Only the gullible will take any notice. We need goals, and the club are selling a player to the highest bidder who could get those goals. As I have already said he stays and plays for us gets loads of goals and earns himself a new contract with us or elsewhere.

 

Wrong! His link up play was very good, especially considering he has only just joined us.

 

Monkey does generally make some good observations but sometimes he is negative purely because it fits his narrative.

 

A bit of honesty from the club would go a long way. Time and time again they treat us like fools. I might not be a fan of MacAnthony at Peterborough, but he's pretty transparent when it comes to transfers. Every Peterborough fan knows the script, they may not be happy with it, but they know what to expect. If our club came out and said we need to sell a few in order to fund other areas of the pitch that need strengthening, then we might not like it, but it would stop the same question being asked at every press conference. Instead, GA refers back to who trained best, and that puts the spotlight directly on the player. I wonder if GA was told that Young was coming back in January and had to play him (against his wishes) and now refuses to put him on the pitch for any decent length of time.
