I think that comment has been proved wrong since Cooks arrival at Valley Parade but hay if you believe that there's little hope for you, don't you remember under Hughes Cook had a mare away at either Barrow or Carlisle missing several great chances Hughes then "rested" him he told us, he soon brought him back when others couldn't do exactly what your suggesting, you'll really have to do better ;).

We had a perfect striker that was never given a chance
Hughes riled him up and made him want to leave
He is still here but hates BCFC and wants out

Stop-start. Passive. Predictable. There was flashes of inspiration. Bursts of decent chances. But a cohesive period of attacking momentum eluded both teams. The game drifted away from everyone, with a heavy sense of helplessness that no one on the field or in the dugouts was going to be able to change the inevitable outcome even though we scored a perfectly good goal.

Are you suggesting that perfect striker was Jake Young by any chance, as we've seen nothing of him since the start of the season (even though he had a pre season - pre season at St Georges) one would suspect the comments Alexander made post the Salford games suggests he doesn't put the work in on the training pitch, I disagree with that up to a point as I posted, if your position in the team is solely based on how you train we may never have had the pleasure of watching Bobby Campbell as it was acknowledged by many Bobby was not the best at training.

Yes who cares if you don’t train as hard if you hit the back of net every week.
    Not sure Swindon were bothered.
Hughes was gone and we bring in another manager with same opinion.
Best striker in league 2 ( at the time), but let’s not play him cos he might not train as hard.
He also has a strange opinion about Pointon.
2 players that could make a difference with our stagnant attack.

I am afraid Alexander doesn’t agree with that he refers to it all the time it’s probably Stubbs doesn’t get game time I am sure he said when he first arrived that he only does light training until Thursday due to knee problems

Young has had one two month spell when he scored goals playing for a kamikaze club that didn’t do any defending at all. If he doesn’t work for his place he doesn’t deserve it

It looks like we'll never find out if Alexander bases everything on what happens on the training pitch, yes he was the best goal scorer in League Two at the time unfortunately not for Bradford City.
I'm not sure with regards his opinion on Pointon but as he doesn't think he deserves a starting place similar to Walker the way we finished last season you have to question why he's being left out, especially after bringing him on and the kid along with Oduor made us look more threatening, I didn't hear Alexanders comment with regards the fans but he's the only person that can change that and as we know he'll only do that by getting us winning games especially at Valley Parade.

What part of Young doesn't give a stuff about Bradford City and wants out, isn't clear to see ?

We have to sell him this window or he walks in June next year for nothing. Doesn't matter if we have an option on him, we had one on Platt and he walked.

It makes no sense to keep him and integrate him as he will still walk in June anyway and pick up the signing on fee.

It's an almost certain guarantee that even if he scores 20 for us this season and becomes a hero, he isn't going to sign a new contract for Bradford City.

He doesn't like Bradford City. David Blunkett can see that.

You are starting to sound like Park. We didn't have an option with Platt - something that has been pointed out to you before yet here you are, persisting with it.

Yes Alexanders the guy who makes the calls just pointing out I don't necessarily agree with his stance, and I believe I've given a very good example in Bobby Campbell, what players do on a match day must IMO have some bearing on team selection, that's a bit like saying Jordan Gibson would be a regular starter because he trains well.
I remember Yann Songo saying Derek Adams based his team selection on what he saw on the training pitch IE you could have scored a hat trick on the Saturday and find yourself out of the team the following game, well that went well, IMO the basis of winning games and keeping momentum going is to select the players who are doing the business on match days, after a certain period during the season you cant get fitter and its all down to following the manager and his backroom staffs way of playing.
With regards Stubbs he was IMO the best defender we had when Hughes brought him in from Exeter, obviously Hughes was happy to go along with how he trained very much like Paul McGrath at Villa after leaving Manchester United as they thought he was finished because of his knee problem, he went on to play 253 games for Villa as well as International games for the Republic of Ireland.
