I was replying more to your "Cook and Smallwood should F off immediately" comment, I try and offer a balanced opinion and I believe Cook gets little credit for the position he plays and the lack of consistency from match officials as we saw today, disallowing a perfectly good goal, some won't/don't even acknowledge his goal return since he joined the club he has a prenominal scoring record when you consider some of the stuff we played during Hughes spell, and the lack of support he's had under Alexander very rarely having a regular strike partner, but then again I don't call someone a happy clapper for having a different opinion to me, I liked what I saw of Oli Sanderson when he was introduced it will be interesting to see if Alexander gives him an extended run along side Andy, because IMO Kavanagh is not the answer unless Alexander is happy to play Kavanagh back into the sort of form he showed in the latter part of last season.

general comment, not totally sure if something is going on but GA just seems to me if he is going over the top that everything is going swimmingly and to plan. Last year I felt he was very honest in his assessments, perhaps with the safeguard that it wasn't really his team. He even got a bit prickly today when asked if we should have looked to take the initiative a bit more in the first half (when it was blatant to everyone this was the case)

 

The fella has nowhere to hide now this is his team and more importantly his decisions team selection and decisions in a game, after the coments this week we'll see how good a team manager he really his

So @NorthernMonkey reply won't convince you, if that's the case there's little hope for you mate, without doubt Cook is in the category as Campbell, Windass already a far better scoring record than Deano he won't out score the Great Man but his contribution since he's been at our club cant be questioned by anyone who follows the game, you still cant give the guy the credit he deserves, even today after having a perfectly legal goal ruled out and wining us all 3 points would it have had any bearing on your above opinion.

 

Well your correct there, that's why their playing in League Two because they cant get into League One, no flies on you mate.

With regards the Young comment and the bench Alexander certainly doesn't mince his words why players weren't picked to start or make the bench, I get managers have there opinions with regards what they see during the week at training/Rawdon Meadows but I'm glad the likes of George Mulhall and Trevor Cherry were more impressed with what they saw on the pitch on match days, or we might never have seen to much of the late great Bobby Campbell.

 

I'll have a £10 BBU bet with you he still finishes up our leading scorer this season, as I said I could understand it if you'd said Kavanagh as I thought once again he was poor, and Smallwood is Marmite for sure but if all 11 players put up with what Cook puts up with most games getting little protection from match day officials then we'd have some team.
One good season he's been our leading goal scorer every season he's been at the club and that includes when he came on loan from Mansfield in January, your a hard man to please @Eccybantam.
