Can't see it happening but if it does and we don't get a clip of Homer Simpson saying 'kids, there's 3 ways to do things, the right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way' before he's unveiled then I'm not interested.

 

Would love to see us sign him, cannot see it happening though. His former club Tranmere linked, however, I think a league 1 side will take a punt.

From a Wigan forum, rumour is that Wigan made contact with the Saudi club about a month back but he wants to be a starter and they wont guarantee him minutes. Their fans believe that Tranmere and Wrexham also made contact and he had some clause to release him from his deal if a move back to the UK was on the table. Same guy said the family didn't move out their with him, still in their home up that way so can see why it's those clubs linked to him.

I think he'll be a Tranmere player soon-ish and despite GAs words, we will bring in another CM/DM on loan from a Huddersfield type club by the end of the window.

 

Very rarely have i ever come away from a game thinking about what Smallwood had done. Does a job when you have the likes of Pattison alongside him but generally just steady at best really.

i do think he started well at Grimsby and different to how he'd played before. In the first 15 mins he received the ball in space from the centre backs, turned and ran up the field before passing forwards.

Now I've typed that I realise how basic and silly it sounds but those one touch curling chips over the top to no one do my head in. Anyway, after 15 minutes he stopped doing the receiving and running so maybe it was just a mistake...

 

Basics.... but sometimes that's where we fail the most, the basics. Last season was so frustrating at times, just pinging it down a channel and hoping for the best. But even then, we'd get in the final third and need another 10 passes to try work the best angle. Sometimes you just need to have a pop!

I think we were 5th last season for touches in the opposition box, but scored the 18th most goals in the league. We way overthought how to get the ball forward.

Most thing Wyke was a stretch at £6k a week. Power will have been on at least £20k a week in Saudi. Even the tea boys get £6k a week

MK Dons have bid for Crowley from Notts. I thought he was immense against us last season in that 10 role. From last week's performance, I wouldnt say they needed another central creator, they need someone who can actually finish these chances.
