From observation

Grimsby will struggle to get out of the bottom six .

Playing with those players in the first 70 mins we will struggle to stay in the mid table . Some have been found out tonight . Sky, Kav, Richards were dire! . I’ll leave it there for now .

 

That was abysmal good job grimsby poor going forward as our defence looked terrible mainly Byrne. His defending for the goal when he literally turned his back on it.

Also Byrne laughing when he was walking back to other players after missing his penalty.

Stubbs is light years ahead of Baldwin, Kelly and Byrne. I didn't even think that was up for debate!

Anyone else experiencing problems with this website loading? Has happened a few times the last few days where it simply just stops working. Also the ads feel a bit over kill right now. I don’t remember seeing so many previously?

 

Feel quite sorry for you guys knowing that it's like rinse and repeat again this season and I think your right, fully expect you to be bottom half if that's anything to go by. We know our place but at the end of the day we had 5 first teamers missing a midfielder at right back and 4 youth players on the bench - but we are in the next round.

 

I thought we played ok tonight but once again we didn't take out chances and as I may have pointed out once or twice, this defence won't keep enough clean sheets.

Whichever way you look at it, it's not a good mix.

I'm not writing anyone off this early in the season, but the Stubbs situation is baffling. Despite his limitations he is a more than competent defender at this level and a leader at the back, so for him to be nowhere near the squad seems strange to me.

 

I fully expect Grimsby to struggle to stay up. Maybe other teams being worse may save you

From what I could make out, Kavanagh didn’t have a great game and assume Walker wasn’t pulling up trees given he was subbed.
Defence looked vulnerable at times.

Baldwin and Byrne are big worries for me.The rash jumping into tackles from both of them and missing the ball led to breakaways in both games tonight and MK Dons plus the defending from Byrne for the Grimsby goal wasn't great.

Same old, same old. Attacks that breakdown continually, Smallwood on free kicks, defence looking all over the place. We need a midfielder who can drive with the ball. It's all a bit too predictable. I think some might have played their way out of the first team today.
