His name is Jake but I expect that’s another error. So if he remained at Swindon he’d have played until the end of the season to carry on “ killing” it ? PS he didn’t score in any of the six games he played with injury and non for BCAFC either . Remember he “ broke down” in a training session because the injury was so severe it necessitated an operation. I’m trying to be reasonable in stating facts not glorifying what “might have been” ?

Park what on earth are you going on about? Young was bombed out to Swindon cos he called MH a clueless bastard on the training ground, in full view of the rest of the squad. For a professional to do that - particularly a lad - there is never a way back. Whether Hughes was a clueless bastard is neither here nor there, the fact is he shouldn't have said it and it was Youngs fault he went on loan, not Hughes

Correct my phone doesn’t appear to want to stick with Jake. 3rd time lucky.

I agree with what you’re saying and thats not my argument but Young carried on playing and declaring himself fit. What went on between Jake and Swindon’s medical team was between them but Flynn can only go from what he is being advised.

Regardless he is now fit and still can’t get a game. GA and Hughes both haven’t really taken a shine to him and I can’t see him turning it around now. Why keep an unhappy player until Jan when we can offload and potentially use the money to further strengthen what we have?

That’s what I said. If that’s true it’s hardly showing commitment is it. And if he is as good as some people say he is he would have been involved more in pre season and started on Saturday

I mean Young wasnt wrong on that front. its well documented Hughes had pretty much nothing to do with training. He was there most of time merely as a spectator.

You like to think so, but I doubt he'll be on a massive salary especially at 20 years of age.

I believe Young said he played the last three games at Swindon carrying an ankle knock, but it was Jakes call not the swindon managers.

On the face of it clearly a cheap signing and another unknown to our strike force. Hope he does well, good record at national league level. I just wish we would get a tune out of Young and develop our own talent.

Young will move on for a few silver coins and we won’t see or invest that money similar to Lewis in January. Its a Bradford city move develop other peoples players because its either cheaper or we are desperate to cash in. Suspect it’s both in this case.

I'd play him along side Cook tomorrow night at Grimsby, easing players in as and when required until we find Cook a partner.

Which is even more of a concern because we don't look water right at the back. If you're not conceding many then perhaps we'd win enough with the chances we create but if aren't then it's putting a heavier expectation on the team to be more creative and free scoring.

Knowing he was being recalled, he had a duty to his parent club to tell Swindon if he wasn't 100% fit to play. We paid his wages, his operation costs and his rehab costs. All Swindon did was pay us a loan fee.

The reason he returned so injured that he would miss the rest of the season is down to Jake Young and Swindon Town, and from what has been said about him I wouldn't have put it past him to have thought "bugger them, I don't want to play there anyway so what does it matter if I go back injured".

Strikes me he is cut from the same block as Eoin Doyle. Doesn't know which side his bread is buttered.

On that basis, yes, sell him because he doesn't fit in with what we want, even if he has potential to be a good striker.

Young and Oliver. The perfect pair for Notts County. Plus Young is "dog" at heart. That's enough reason to have never signed him. Anyone name me an ex dog who has thrown heart and soul into being a bantam ? Most fall into the Ian Banks category.
