This kid may well do a job, he may even do more than that, but its a very underwhelming signing and if our previous record of signing strikers on loan from PL clubs is anything to go by.............

 

if no one wants them, you can not just bin them off, especially at our level.

 

They're actually in the 6th tier - NL South - but you still have to do the business. Look at Poleon, Pererra, Osadebe etc

I’m hoping the signing of intent, is the one that is bought from the sale of Jake Young. If he’s not wanted, then sell him to a club that do want him, and reinvest that money towards a player we want. This lad is not any different from Young if Young sits on the bench each week.

 

Who do you think we will get? No club is going to let a decent striker leave at this stage and we already have 3-4 strikers with Young clearly leaving. You need to reevaluate your expectations a tad.

 

Equally if Young does go and the money we make is used to reinvest in the squad, that isn't a sign of extra investment Mr Rupp.

 

Who on here had heard of Kavanagh, certainly not me, he might be just what we need and it could be he has come in to replace OLIVER. As yet we do not know. More likely Young and if that happens, i wish him well, but never done a thing for us.
Did anyone really thing Mr Rupp was going to pump millions into the playing budget.

Intent would be keeping Young and erm..... playing him. Unfortunately it doesn't look like that is ever going to happen.

We went out and signed Kavanagh, he is our player. Different situations.

If I am honest, Kav looks a decent prospect but some on here would have you believe he is the 2nd coming.

I think our fans are going overboard with Kavanagh. He showed a bit of promise last season but still has a lot to learn. I wouldn’t be pinning my hopes on him.

 

his goals for oxford city were while they were in the national league, they got relegated last year. Just 1 league below us. 9 goals in 23 games at the age of 19 is not bad going at all in the national league. also a better scoring record than kav when he was on loan in league 2 and in a really struggling team. i like this signing

 

I wouldn’t be surprised if were trying to get rid of Smith and Oliver even if Young goes. Id imagine Cook and Kav will be the preferred two with Sanderson as a decent sub option. I can’t see Oliver being happy being 4th choice behind a 20 year old loanee.
