Just a rumour online from a few hours back that's picking up pace on all socials in the hours since.

I get it if he goes, he's a good enough midfielder to start in L2 for someone. But under this new midfield setup he isn't going to get gametime. Best bet he has here is a squad rotation option, so makes sense if he wants to find first team minutes.

 

Many of us said that he would be a bench sitter at best. He will do OK for someone if he wants out.

 

I hope not. If he stays I think he still gets a good share of games this season. I thought today, he was the right replacement for Wright had he been on the bench. However TBF, Alexander got it right with Odour and the small change in shape.

 

Doesnt surprise. If the loan we are after comes in, its rumoured to be a CM so that puts him even further down the pecking order.

The fact he didnt even make the bench today is telling. A solid utility option to cover injuries but was overlooked for Oduor.

 

Always good to have a Gilliead. Doubt it’s us pushing him out but don’t blame him for wanting more minutes

Given Young is still our player and was on the bench, made sense Oliver got the nod.
Genuine question, with the way todays game was going, do you prefer Oliver, Young or Smith to come on?

 

Smith today. We needed that energy. If we had been losing then Young.

He did well when he came on today! I would of preferred him to come on when cook went off, did a better job the kav up top

He gave the defence something to think about, whereas Smith , I doubt he would. Young is an open question?

 

The conundrum Alexander faces is Young won’t accept been back up to Cook, whereas Oliver probably does. Imagine a scenario Young is sold, Oliver goes, no decent replacement is brought in and Cook gets injured. We’re screwed! Aware there is another thread on the topic, but I don’t have an issue with Oliver as back up to rest Cook like we saw today.

In fact, i thought Oliver did well enough today, but also agree sone legs to try stretch MK would have also been useful. Neither Smith nor Oliver are particularly strong at pressing so you know what you’re going to get.

I won’t be shocked if we get to deadline day and Young has gone, without a replacement coming in.

Well GA said he wants another 2 or 3 in so I take that as a GK, CM and ST - latter if someone leaves.

 

The reason we are having a sixth consecutive season in this division is the we consistently have the like of Gillead within not only our 11 but at worst the matchday squad. My pal tries to convince me of his merits but all he comes is that he runs around a lot. He doesn't score goals , he's doesn''t set any up either. We've got that in Smallwood. already . I agree he's a good honest pro but for me that is all.

Today was a game where we could have utilised him IMO. And if one of the wing backs gets injured we seem fairly short.

Smith was never going to be brought on for Cook. He will get matches in different circumstances
