It was Pattison I think. Keeper probably had it covered. It needed more pace/whip.

I don’t think we played well today and had the OG not gone in I think we would have been easily beaten in the end.
Their keeper should be saving Pattisons shot me and tbh I’ve no idea how they didn’t get 4 or 5 today. Lots to work on but I’ll take the W.

But they are a decent team, one of the best in the league by all accounts. In terms of the defence, how many notable saves did Walker have to make? 2? 3? I’d say the defence did an ok job today, room for improvement sure but nothing today says we have no chance of competing at the top of the league.

How many convincing City wins you watched?

I’ll ask you to recall the performance same time next season and all you will recall is the win convincing or not

if you want to win convincingly maybe go watch Real Madrid or Man City

Do we get more points for convincing wins?

Young will be gone but todays game cried out for someone to run the channels Kav did to some extent but only wish we had a fast powerful ST to do this more consistently

Why is being realistic viewed as being negative?

From another angle you can also see Halliday look and shout to someone to come across (probably Kelly). Baldwin got caught by the 1-2 and couldn’t see where Byrne was.

Thought it was a bit of a sloppy goal, but good passing from then. The more time they play together, the tighter you hope they all get.

Great to start with a win. Biggest positive for me is that we’ve ticked off one of the toughest fixtures already and done so with 3 points. Won’t come up against many teams that can attack you like that for the full 90. Let’s just hope we can overcome the banana skins this season. Make VP a fortress starting next week. COYB

No issue with people being realistic but we’ve seen one competitive game so far, away from home, against one of the most fancied teams in league and we’ve won.

So how certain people can be almost exclusively negative in their assessment of the performance and our squad (all in the name of realism) just doesn’t seem that realistic.

All that really needs to be said was we were probably second best, but we won because we took an early 2-0 lead.

    Boom!

Now we just need to avoid being second best week in, week out, which is perfectly possible - if not guaranteed.

Don’t disagree. Over 90 minutes they had the better chances and more of the ball (not unexpected). However, Walker had very few saves to make and we scored our chances when they came our way (and fluffed a couple of opportunities). I’ll be happy if that carries on all season.

Yes. MK Dons were at home, had made some decent signings, had the majority of the team that finished in the play offs and to back it up were also favourites with the bookies.

    Sounds realistic enough to me.

Because we rode our luck massively. Will that luck last all season? Absolutely not so there's nothing wrong with critiquing and putting out a perfectly true statement that despite the result we looked very shaky at times and that back line will have to improve on the amount of chances it allowed for us to be successful.

If you want to view it as negative then go for it, I couldn't care less.
