Wells, Wyke and Cook - the only 3 'real goalscorers' we have possessed in the last decade. I cant even be bothered to type the long list of striker failures, while highlighting those that did stuff after they left us.

He was offering some friendly advice about your approach. Its fine to disagree and challenge someone in debate. You just disagree and become an arse.

 

In my book, Jimmy wasn't a great scorer, but he was a scorer of great (and vitally important) goals. His value to us at the time was just as much as Big Bob's back in the day. A true bona fide legend and I'll do a "black knight" on anyone who disagrees.

In fact, I still have my "He Used To Work At The Co-op" pajamas and matching duvet cover and use them as a comfort blanket when the going gets tough.

Yer, I'm inclined to agree with you but for me it's interesting that there's nothing stopping him from doing it from a legal/league rules perspective. The only thing stopping him is himself. So when he says "I'll invest", there are no barriers, he should just crack on.

Equally, the point GA made at the press conference about being to FFP is irrelevant because the owner could invest if he chooses to.

Not City releated but Chelsea continue to astonish me. Saw a graphic of their squad the other day - around 41 players and that was minus Gallagher. They have since signed another keeper from Belgium for £20m, Spanish kid from Atleti for £35m and now Neto from Wolves for £52m.

Unbelievable. No transfer strategy, just playing Football Manager.

 

Clubs don't go for that kind of player anymore (except us of course) decent sized name from a big club, never done anything of note but sounds like a good signing. Give me a young and hungry unknown any day. Typical city signing Chapman, hate to think what we were paying him also
