2024 Released Players & City transfer rumours

Oates has had a few injury hit years but yes, had a bad injury in Jan. Isn't expected to return to training for another month or so, he won't be going anywhere this window.

Don't think he's good enough for L2, has a really naff record. Only scored double figures once in his career and that was in NL.

 

Not sure mate but whenever I've seen him play, both for Hartlepool and Mansfield, he's really shone.
If he has been injured for a while, he'll be just the player for us though!!!

 

Liam Ridehalgh plays for a PFA 11 tomorrow against a Man Utd U21 team hoping to get noticed.

Cant believe some on here actually rated him - speaks volumes he is without a club still.

 

Age has caught up on him but we have had far worse players than him. I hope he finds a club

There's plenty of decent talent still without a club. If we were using wingers, Adelukun would be a City player by now I reckon. He played his best football of his career under GA. He was supposed to join back up with him at MK last summer late on, but Lincoln couldn't get their deals done and kept him until Jan. I'm guessing it's money related, but it's amazing that the PFA took so long to do these training camps for free agents to try get players fitter and into new clubs sooner.

One thing I know for sure, every player in both PFA fielded sides playing today that's still without a club after the window will be joining Bradford City on trial....... when FM25 comes out on my laptop.

A few years back I was in Nandos with the wife in Birstall and Ridehalgh came in with a bloke and directly behind me. He was telling his mate about Ollie Crankshaw and Adams having a massive blow up and Cranskhaw was gone within no time. He was having a pop at Adams and his training sessions too. I must have listened to about 5 words the missus said inside of about 20 minutes I was ear-wigging that much, it was my version of hot gossip!

 

He was at a real crossroads after the play off semi defeat season.
Was convinced he wasn't going to get another contract at City and was contemplating giving up the game for a different career path.

 

Regards Swan, Clough said prior to Evans signing that Swan and Gregory were his first choice strikers.
Signing Evans is competition for both.
Swan not going anywhere imo

 

Should guarantee us the safety of fourth bottom then and a 7th season in the pit of the EFL

 

I've been negative this closed season, but I can't see us ending anywhere near 4th bottom.

 

Gregory also hardly played football last season and is approaching 36. Even if he is first choice, he wont be finishing many games. They'll need 3 first team strikers and all 3 will get gametime.

Very true. Even more ecstatic, if the said player scored his 16 L2 goals over half a season

 

Alexander has pointed out, several times now, that only a few of our players have played a full game so far. We start for real on Saturday, yet only a few have done 90mins.

We started earlier than normal yet we may not be fully cooked on the opening day. That is madness. No?

 

Adelakun turned down a contract offer from Donny. Surprised he hasn't been snapped up yet, I presume he is pricing himself out of moves with his wage demands?

Guess we'll see but the first three games will show us if the pre-season worked or not.

 

My bet is we didn’t want him due to his health issues. No point in signing a player on good money to primarily be on the bench I suspect, particularly as we already have Cook. For me, Wyke coming here was a complete non-starter.

 

To be fair, what was Parkinson’s record with strikers. We already had Hanson & Wells fell into his lap almost by accident. Can’t think of any of his other strikers being anywhere near good enough over the time he was here

 

I thought Danny Cadamarteri was awful for us. 5 goals in 90 games or something daft. He used to run towards goal with the ball and when he got near the box he’d turn round and run back the other way!
