Yes but friendly game and a Sunderland friendly player at VP a loan move might happen he started at Fleetwood presumably when Alexander was there. Don’t know if he is any good never heard of him

 

Don’t think he would of been manager when he was there he’s only 23 was about 10 year ago he was Fleetwood manager

Well any replacement won’t have much to live up to in as far as Youngs career at Bradford city is concerned

 

Alexander was gone a long time before Matete joined. He is a defensive minded central midfielder, a role I wouldn't mind seeing some competition for as Smallwood is kind of on his own there as McDonald and Gilly certainly can't play DM.

But we aren't spending money on the position currently filled by our captain. I think a loan is the only real outcome, but Matete might be a bit out of our reach? Last few seasons going to promotion chasing L1 clubs on loan and having the odd squad spell in the champ.

 

He didn't play much at Oxford though so maybe a drop down in level might not be completely out of the question.

I've said enough about Byrne and Baldwin but the stats are there for you to find yourself and Kelly should absolutely be back up if we'd invested properly into the back line.

The new lad from Barnsley is obviously a complete unknown so could be anything and the perma-injured Johnson is a right back.

I'm not suggesting Stubbs is Franco Baresi or anything but I'm not sure any of the others are even Sam Stubbs.

 

£300k for back up for skip is completely out of the question. If someone is worth that level of fee, he would rightfully expect to be our top earner.

 

I know it's absolute nonsense to suggest we're paying that fee for anyone, never mind a back up but in this case I was responding to Jordan who commented about a loan.

 

Underwhelming pre-season and an underwhelming transfer window. We won't be anywhere near 3rd. More likely 3rd bottom.
