2024 Released Players & City transfer rumours

Does anyone know what’s happening with the keeper situation as we had a trialist again yesterday I believe. Is Doyle still an active squad member or we going with Hadi at number 2? Surely we could get a decent young keeper from a higher league on loan as number 2.

I think the plan was always Oliver goes and a bonus if someone took smith.
No one interested and no back up plan ???
If any truth in Stevenage interest that saves Bradford budget wise money for sale goes else where mind extra midfield maybe left wing back. As for replacing young would not be an option. Have to be looking at 200k plus has year left on contract with option which we are never going to take up. Only way I see another striker coming in is smith goes, I think he is crap and have not rated him since he came Kavanagh with cook all day long

 

Seriously?! So Young goes as you think 6 is too many, Cook then injured early in the season - this would leave Kav alongside Smith (who you think is crap), Oliver (who most think is crap) or Ibbitson (totally untried).

The issue is Oliver and the three year deal that some muppets give him.
Told all summer have to get rid to bring in, so we have tried to offload our highest earner Oliver all summer no one interested!!! And guessing the deals so good that on he is willing to do a Johnson Clark Harris on us and sit it out and go next summer.
So you look around assets or you take money what people want if it’s realistic with young it’s a no brainer you have to get funds from somewhere. As I don’t believe RUPP will say if Oliver staying here’s another 200-300k to the budget.

 

No, the issue is that we need promotion and if we don't score a lot more than last year then we simply aren't going to make it. Selling Young and relying on Oliver will absolutely not help the cause no matter which way you want to spin the budget.

Unless you think a back up for Smallwood (who will play pretty much every game barring injury) will somehow transform us.

 

So...........should Jake Young be sold, what is everyone's opinions on James Norwood who was rumoured about, as his replacement?
At 33 years he's not much time left but the lad knows where the net is.

I've very little enthusiasm for the new season, although I'm sure I will attend out of a lifelong habit.

Yes, 24 years old, resale value, off back of a good season. Probably wanted a grand a week more than Sarcevic so we went for the 32 year old with injury record.

21 years old and had just been told by his manager that had signed him on a 3 year deal with option of a 4th just a few months earlier that he no longer had a future at City. Is it any wonder?

Though we were talking about Jake Young, stand easy pal !.

 

The few games we have seen Young, he has not exactly set the world alight and other than the spell as Swindon, hasn't done that much any where.
If we can get a reasonable fee for him, maybe it is time for him to move on.
