If it's from Nixon, I'm leaning towards it being utter bollocks. His track record is stupidly low to be classed as any true source.

Looks like they have 5 first team centre forwards on the books, 2 joining this summer already at Stevenage. Seems like a daft move?

 

Can't wait to see Rumarm Burrell tearing up league two again.

 

Ordinarily I would be bothered that Stubbs would be potentially moved on but with who we have at the club he's still out best centre half and it's absolute madness unless we have a target lined up to replace him.

 

On his day, he is probably up there with the best in the league. Problem is under GA, he was either never fit or naff, think he had 1 good game with Alexander when he had to cover at DM for a bit. Doesn't help either that he moves in slow motion.

I like Stubbs, I just don't think he's dependable and GA wants to have guys who will stay available.

 

One problem….. What is it with “ sell Oliver” ?

 

Stubbs was shocking last season, no better than the much derided Taylor. He would have been released but for the extension clause he activated.

All about opinions but very much doubt he is the best we currently have.

 

Playing league 1 football for burton

 

I’d keep young not saying I wouldn’t but if you can get good money for him and improve the squad over all then I think it’s worth doing. We need a left back, dm cover unless we can shift Oliver and McDonald it don’t look like we can do that. So if we can sell someone and reinvest it then so be it.

 

To be fair mate, Jake has not been given a fair crack of the whip at VP.
Until he has, then we will never know.

 

It might well be that he doesn't fit the plans but he's done enough elsewhere to warrant teams a level above show interest. Personally I'd like to see him given a chance but if he's gonna spend most of his time on the bench he may be better off getting a shot elsewhere at a first eleven spot.

Sounds logical, would we have a replacement lined up or does it just to move Oliver up the pecking order for a place on the bench.

 

GA fought to keep Young here in January. He then played him injured and he missed the rest of the season.

GA has talked about Young a few times and how he is in his plans etc but 12 minutes in 2 pre season games tells its own story.

If Young is sold this late in the window, put whatever spin you want on it but 99% will see it is a major clusterfcuk regardless.

Its definately a bantams thing. Embrassing again.

 

Casually forgetting to mention how Mark Cooper, Rob Edwards and Michael Flynn had no issues whatsoever.

Wild had no problems with Young as a person, sang his praises btw.

 

It seems a bit strange that we have spent all this year trying to get rid of Oliver but now he seems up the pecking order above Young.
Surely Young is a better player than Oliver or Smith but it seems he is not fancied again by a City manager.

 

Like you say he wanted him to stay in January and was harping on about him being like a new signing just a few weeks ago but then he's hardly used him in pre season. It's just odd.

 

I think it’s clear we’ve had an offer, we’ll be bartering over the fee but won’t want to risk him getting injured hence him only getting 10 minutes play in the last two games. He will be gone before Saturday.

 

There has been alot of talk of shifting players out before new ones come in. Looks to me like we cant get Oliver off the books and if there is interest in Young - he is the odd man out.

That 'extra investment' seems to have run out and we are selling the only player worth a dime.

Wrong call yet again.
