Absolutely unbelievable

 

A very bitter pill to swallow for some folk on here. You could even extend that to the owners of Barnsley, Blackpool, Burton, Lincoln, Rotherham, Wigan etc...

But we are sustainable and have a club to support so just be happy eh?

 

It makes him feel better and masks our own pathetic failings.

 

Its fair to say he is far from perfect but would be a massive improvement on the previous/current shower we have had.

 

Never mind being envious of Peterborough...i'm jealous of a whole other host of clubs that have been fairing way better than us for several seasons now - Stevenage, Shrewsbury, Crawley, Exeter, Lincoln, Plymouth, Burton - flying high and probably punching above their weight, and fair play to them....while we contemplate our 6th successive season in L2. But as long as Sparks continues with his bullshit and lies, and Rupp's non-existent investment, then that is perfectly acceptable with certain supporters...

 

I honestly don't get the hostility toward him, maybe just folk who don't like brash personalities. We speak on here of wanting transparency from our owners yet deride another clubs for doing exactly that.
And let's be honest we could only dream of being L1/championship yo yo club, hitting the playoffs once since our drop back to league 2 is all we've got to show for the last six seasons.
Quite frankly I'm not sure what some fans actually want?

 

It would have been better had our club said nothing at all in my opinion. We really had no need to reply, particularly to a guy who loves the sound of his own voice. Also, I’m no Sparks apologist but he’s getting stick for something we were led to believe, fell under the remit of Sharpe with him being the head of all things football at the club. I had hoped we’d become a little more professional but I’m yet to see any significant changes he’s made. Early days yet but less than 2 weeks until the start of the season. We can’t shift the unwanted players and we can’t bring in the quality we need, so what exactly is he doing? Maybe it’s in the backroom staff re fitness, but it’s still the same coaches who can’t get the guys switched on from minute 1.

 

Anyone who didn’t know that DMac wasn’t brought up in business life as a salesman then they do now. He created a business selling holiday homes in Europe. He could sell sand to Arabs. And as you say , he’s NOT universally liked as an owner by the local fan base. He’s no mug though!

 

Steve, Posh fans hate the man. Remember Posh is the nearest EFL club to me so I pick up local news.

 

He's nowhere near the sunshine and rainbows answer to ownership that some paint him to be, but I'd rather have him at the helm over anyone in a position of power we currently have.

About a year or two back when the rumbles from the fans wanting a change came in, he said he'd sell his shares if the Americans wanted him out, he'd take a year off and try buy another EFL club. But last week he said on the radio that he and the family are set for life in Florida and his next step would be looking into owning an American team. Never know with the future, but he is painting a picture of Posh will be his only English adventure.

 

Reading through the last few pages and posts on this forum has made me feel physically sick.

Some of you are absolute keyboard warriors who sound like pathetic little girls squabbling. Someone has a different opinion and theirs is instantly wrong.

Absolute disgrace. Supposed to be City fans, but what it's turned into is who can prove how incorrect the other is. My 9 year old daughter would roll her eyes at this bullshit.

Grow up you whoppers.

Anyway, on to the team.....

We're another defender away and probably a couple of loans away from a stronger squad than we finished (finished well... don't forget) last season.

Alexander knows what he's doing (IN MY OPINION, IN 4 MONTHS I MAY BE INCORRECT). The signings haven't been massively inspirational but sometimes a boring pre season could be just the ticket.

Let's see how we look tonight.

I don't think it's too far fetched to think it was Sparks that pushed for the loan signing of Wright in January, or the rumoured enquiries about Wyke at that time. Likewise this interest in Crichlow has his fingerprints all over it. I might be totally wide of the mark but it feels to me like he just can't help himself from getting involved in the footballing side of things but he is totally reliant on bringing up names of our explayers because that's about as far as his knowledge stretches.

 

It certainly goes against what Sharpe said, I think it was early June-ish in the T&A? WOAP mentioned it again today in their article on the defence, that Sharpe said the team needed experienced heads back there and since then.... zero arrivals, but one link to an old face. It's not even like Critchlow is "experienced", he's had one season in his career as a starter and all in all started 50-odd EFL league games, so goes completely against Sharpe and his call for experience.
