Think the times with 'little money' also probably had 3k/4k fans turning up, not 14k+!
Agree they were also some of my best times as a City fan, but I don't want largely lack of success in the past to define our future - we have to want to progress. Sadly the regime running our club at present seem inept to do so

Any rumours in the media today? Must be one of the quietest windows we've had in a long while. Maybe the game against Sunderland will result in a loosening of the purse strings if needs be.

All very fair points, nor do I and I've been as critical as most with regards Rupp during his tenure at the club not just the last couple few months when he's promised to invest more to give us a very positive player budget.
It's been said many times a good Championship level club would be most fans dream (some might say league one) but I don't believe that is attainable under the present owner IMO you have to have an interest in your investment or be prepared to pay for top people to run your club obviously with regards what division your in.
Lets hope the likes of Sharpe and other footballing people being brought in will have the required effect, @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler got stick for saying in his opinion it would take 5 years to get us back on some sort of stability, well its 6 years in December since the conman was found out and kicked out of Valley Parade.

That’s a pretty fair summary USG…..Remember the days when we had Bob Martin and the tall chap with glasses, who didn’t have a pot……Staff was a likeable chap too.

Yes according to Sky Sports News Tuesday 4 December 2018, ironically we seem to have learnt little since that time.

We've certainly not progressed that's for sure
Mr Rupp has to share some if not all the blame for what happened with the Despot
His press releases which are very few and far between are now being treated as sceptical at best certainly should not be taken seriously as the past has proved, he would be better not making them and just getting on with it
I don't believe we will rise back to the lofty heights (top half L1) under his stewardship nor any of the current hierarchy we are a spent force languishing in L2 and will be till he goes we are a blot on his portfolio one that won't go away
How and when that happens god only knows

300 pages of some absolute sheet on here and perhaps one quality signing (Sarcevic). A promotion winning spot we don't have. We are missing a decent mobile centre half, a capable left wing back and a defensive midfielder. Does Rupp think a play off is promotion? Someone needs to tell him Top 3 is the aim.

I'd rather bring in two decent centre halves and pray that Wrght or Richards are good enough for the LWB role if it's a choice.

Shame we couldn't get this centre back trailist. Great ball! Notts County will be up there this season.

Yes we have brought in an injury prone RWB for one slot and then a Stockport reserve and an inexperienced laughing stock to add to bang average L2 plodders like Stubbs and Kelly.

Its not good enough. Hopefully the kid who was released by the mighty Fylde will be the next Dean Richards eh.

And yet I've had a poster on here protesting that there's absolutely no evidence that the playing budget has been reduced?

Perhaps we'll bring another handful of good signings but unless we do I'm absolutely steadfast I'm my opinion that once again, we've been lied to by the club.

So you think the overall budget for this club has been reduced

Read my post that you quoted. If you study it really hard you'll probably find the answer.

Yes massively. We’re about 10 pro’s lighter than we were last season, of course the budget is less!

The analysis by Jason and the WOAP team published earlier today was interesting I thought.

We need to score 20 more goals than last season and concede 10 less.

The conceding 10 less seems possible or rather would seem possible with the same or slightly improved back line from last season. We'll only know if we've improved the backing after the first couple of games which feels a risk.

Scoring 20 more goals seems a push. Even winning games at the end of last season we weren't carving out chances and missing sitters. The hope is a more attacking mindset in midfield if Sarcevic and Pattison can stay fit will help but at the moment it feels like there'll be more 1-0 and 2-1s than 3 nils or 4-1.

Difficult to find a case when no evidence is provided probably because you can’t
