The Handsome Family - gothic alt country. Saw them last week at Hebden Bridge Trades Club and they were excellent.
Been listening to some of their albums a lot since then:
    Through the Trees
    In the Air
    Singing Bones
    Unseen

Neil Young’s stuff now back on Spotify - huzzah!

Lots of great archive stuff added now, including this:

This may just be the best Neil live album, recorded in a club, with Crazy Horse, after Ragged Glory as warm up for the Weld tour. To my ears it’s better than Live Rust or Weld.

No one sounds like Neil on electric guitar. His sound and soloing style is unique and instantly recognisable. This album is peak electric Neil IMHO.

Just got in after Nine Below Zero gig.

They are probably one of the best live acts I've ever seen.

My wife's favourite band of all time.

But only with Gillan on vocals.

I also think there may be a bit more attraction than his singing voice.

(I read this to her before posting and she just says "well that goes without saying".

I always remember listening to Deep Purple singing Black Night at Rochdale at half time in 1970-something.

I remember it cos Dave Bairstow (who I went to school with) scored a goal.

I'm hoping to see them again in November as there won't be many more opportunities. I also dug out my Gillan Glory Road album yesterday for the first time in years. Great stuff.
